Storylines
1. The European race
Since the weekend, we finally have the four Italian teams that will play Champions League soccer next season. Napoli, Lazio, Inter and AC Milan are the top four teams after Juventus received a 10-point deduction in the current Serie A season after the Italian club were found guilty again by the Italian FA appeals court (Corte d'Appello) for rules violations. Atalanta, AS Roma and Juventus will all play the last game of the year to define the other three European spots.
5. Atalanta, 61 points (+15 GD)
6. Roma, 60 points (+11 GD)
7. Juventus, 59 points (+22 GD)
2. Napoli's party
The last home game of Napoli against Sampdoria will see the much-awaited party with the title celebrations and the official delivery of the trophy to the 2022-23 Serie A champions. At the same time, it will also be the last game with coach Luciano Spalletti in charge of the team, as it was announced by both manager and club's owner this week that he'll be leaving.
3. The relegation race
Now that Lecce are officially safe, the last matchday will also tell us who will be the last team to drop to the Italian second division after Sampdoria and Cremonese. However, if the two sides end with the same amount of points, they will play a playoff game to define who will be relegated and who will play Serie A soccer next season.
17. Spezia, 31 points (-30 GD)
18. Verona, 31 points (-26 GD)
