Jozy Altidore not starting; Vincent Kompany in lineup for Belgium
Jozy Altidore will not start for the US, while Belgium captain Vincent Kompany will be in his side's starting 11.
The United States seemed to get a bit of good news Monday, when it was announced that striker Jozy Altidore would be available to play against Belgium. But if he is to see the field, it will be off the bench.
Altidore is not in the US starting 11, and midfielder Kyle Beckerman will also start the game on the bench. The US announced the lineup as a 4-3-3, but it's a midfielder-heavy lineup with Clint Dempsey being the only true forward.
Joining Dempsey up front will be Graham Zusi and Alejandro Bedoya, with Michael Bradley, with Geoff Cameron, Michael Bradley, and Jermaine Jones. DaMarcus Beasley, Omar Gonzalez, Matt Besler, and Fabian Johnson will start in back ahead of goalkeeper Tim Howard.
The Belgians, on the other hand, will have one of their injured stars in the starting lineup. Vincent Kompany, who has been struggling with a groin issue, will start Tuesday.
