Federer won his 4th Tennis Masters Cup in 5 years in Shanghai, China to become the first player in history to win more than $10 million in a season.

He played 12 finals and won 8 titles this year, to bring his career totals to 70 and 53 ... He tied Bjorn Borg's record with his 5th consecutive win at Wimbledon ... He became the first player in the Open Era to capture four consecutive U.S. Open singles titles --Bill Tilden did it between 1920 and 1923--.

He now owns 12 Major titles, tied with Roy Emerson, trailing only Pete Sampras (14) ... He has played 10 consecutive Grand Slam finals and 14 consecutive semifinals, both all-time records.

He won his 500th career match on April 20, beating David Ferrer in the quarterfinals of the Monte Carlo Masters.
