Gamecocks lost a lot of talent, but have a lot coming back
With a loss of a historic amount of talent off of the 2024 roster, some are concerned South Carolina may be headed for a repeat of the 2014 season when expectations were sky high but the failure to replace talent on defense caught up with the Gamecocks, who finished a disappointing 7-6 that season after being a preseason top 10 team that some said could make the first-ever College Football Playoff. JC Shurburtt explains the differences between now and then talent-wise, but says that the results this season will determine a lot about where the overall program is under fifth-year head coach Shane Beamer.
