Jansen went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, five RBI and two runs scored in Monday's victory over the White Sox.

This was the third time in Jansen's career that he has driven in five or more runs in a game, marking the first occurrence since Oct. 1, 2022. The highlight of 29-year-old catcher's day was launching a 377-foot homer off Jordan Leasure in the seventh inning. The Blue Jays backstop has swung a hot bat to open the season, slashing .333/.397/.681 over his first 78 plate appearances.

D'Arnaud (head) will catch and bat fifth in the second game of Monday's doubleheader versus the Padres.

D'Arnaud hasn't played since being removed from last Friday's game due to dizziness, but he passed concussion tests and is back in the lineup following a couple days of rest. He has an .836 OPS with five home runs over 36 games with Atlanta this season.

Bethancourt went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's loss to the Mets.

The catcher took Jake Diekman deep in the seventh inning, bringing the Marlins to within a run at 4-3, but it was as close as they got. Bethancourt has offered little at the plate this season -- Sunday's homer was his first of 2024, and he's slashing .143/.186/.232 in 60 plate appearances as the backup to Nick Fortes.

Kirk went 1-for-1 with two walks, a double and two RBI in Sunday's win over the Rays.

The 25-year-old has seen his playing time crater in May as the red-hot Danny Jansen has seized control of the starting job behind the plate for the Blue Jays, but Kirk's own offensive struggles haven't helped. Sunday's performance was his first multi-RBI game since Opening Day, and through five games in May he's batting just .214 (3-for-14).

Jansen is starting at catcher and batting second in Monday's game versus the White Sox.

Blue Jays manager John Schneider has been changing things up with his lineups in an effort to get his offense going and he's trying something new again Monday in batting Jansen higher than fifth for the first time this season. The catcher is slashing .313/.384/.625 on the year, so it's a move that certainly makes sense on paper.

Campusano went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Sunday's 9-1 win over Atlanta.

Campusano went deep to left off Ray Kerr to extend the Padres' lead to 8-0 in the fifth. It was his second home run this month and his fourth of the year. The 25-year-old is now slashing .264/.309/.421 with 14 extra-base hits, 25 RBI, 19 runs and a 9:20 BB:K in 149 plate appearances after compiling a career-high 174 plate appearances last season.

Mountcastle is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Cardinals.

Mountcastle is mired in a 1-for-20 slump and will sit Monday for the second time in Baltimore's past three games. Ryan O'Hearn will handle first base while Anthony Santander (knee) returns to the lineup as the designated hitter.

Cooper is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rays, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Copper has an .860 OPS over his past nine contests but will head to the bench Monday for the second time in Boston's last three games. Connor Wong will rest his legs as the designated hitter while Reese McGuire receives a start behind the plate.

Rivas was designated for assignment by the Cardinals on Monday.

The transaction frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of Ryan Loutos. Rivas, 27, has slashed just .246/.364/.323 with zero home runs this season at Memphis.

Singleton went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a walk Sunday against the Brewers.

Singleton enjoyed a productive weekend series against the Brewers, collecting five hits across 12 at-bats while scoring a run and driving in two. He's started 18 of the last 19 games since the demotion of Jose Abreu and has hit .230 with a .342 OBP to go along with four homers, 12 RBI and 13 runs scored. Abreu could rejoin the team within the week, but Singleton has made the case to maintain playing time with his production across May.

Torkelson went 1-for-4 with a solo homer and two runs scored in Sunday's 6-4 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Torkelson got the Tigers on the board with a solo blast center off Jordan Montgomery in the third inning and later scored once more after reaching on a fielder's choice. After not homering in the first 37 games of the season, Torkelson now has three home runs in his last seven games and seems to finally be heating up after a slow start to the year. The 24-year-old also has at least a hit in 12-of-13 games dating back to May 5 and is now slashing .227/.291/.360 with 17 RBI, 21 runs and a 13:43 BB:K in 189 plate appearances.

Cronenworth went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer and a walk in Sunday's 9-1 win over Atlanta.

Cronenworth opened up the scoring with a two-run blast off Bryce Elder in the opening frame for his only hit of the night. Cronenworth owns a 140 wRC+, which is currently third in baseball among all qualified first basemen, behind only Freddie Freeman and Bryce Harper. Cronenworth is putting together an excellent campaign and is currently slashing .275/.344/.485 with eight homers, 30 RBI, 21 runs and a 17:33 BB:K in 192 plate appearances.

Mastrobuoni was optioned to Triple-A Iowa on Monday, per MLB's transaction log.

Mastrobuoni went 0-for-10 at the dish over his last three games, and he'll be demoted to the minors now that Dansby Swanson (knee) is ready to be activated from the 10-day IL and Luiz Vasquez is ready to get a shot with the big-league club. Mastrobuoni will likely be seen again in the majors this season considering his versatility.

Mariners manager Scott Servais said that Polanco (hamstring) will be available off the bench Monday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Polanco is missing a sixth straight start Monday, but he's progressed enough with his right hamstring issue that he could enter mid-game, if needed. It would appear he'll have a shot to be back in the lineup Tuesday.

Drury (hamstring) will hit in the batting cage Monday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Drury is ready to begin reincorporating baseball activities as he works his way back from a left hamstring strain. Running will certainly be a bigger test than hitting, though, and it's not clear when he might be ready to do that.

Turang is not in the lineup for Monday's contest in Miami.

The Marlins are rolling with southpaw Ryan Weathers, so the left-handed hitting Turang will take a seat. Andruw Monasterio will occupy second base for the Brewers.

Grissom is out of the lineup for Monday's game at Tampa Bay, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Grissom started the previous four games but will take a seat after going 2-for-15 during that stretch. David Hamilton will step in at the keystone and bat seventh in the series opener versus the Rays.

Polanco (hamstring) remains out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Yankees.

The Mariners have not yet made a roster move with Polanco, but he will miss a sixth straight start Monday with a right hamstring issue. Josh Rojas will handle second base while Luis Urias plays third base.

Rendon (hamstring) has progressed to walking on an incline on the treadmill, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Rendon is taking baby steps in his recovery from a left hamstring strain but said Monday that he's feeling a bit better. There remains no timetable for his return and he's not eligible for activation for another month after being shifted to the 60-day injured list.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Monday that LeMahieu (foot) will be the team's primary third baseman when he returns, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

LeMahieu will be eased into everyday duty, though, after missing so much time with a right foot injury. The veteran infielder is a couple games into the resumption of his rehab assignment and isn't expected to be activated for at least another week or so. Once LeMahieu returns, Oswaldo Cabrera and Jon Berti will fill utility roles.

LeMahieu (foot) went 1-for-1 with three walks, two runs and an RBI while playing five innings at third base in Sunday's rehab appearance with Double-A Somerset.

LeMahieu had plenty of opportunity to put his right foot -- which he broke on a foul ball March 16 -- to the test Sunday given his time in the field and on the basepaths. The veteran infielder is three games into his rehab assignment and has gone 2-for-7 with three walks, two runs and an RBI thus far. Per the Associated Press, LeMahieu is slated to play back-to-back minor-league games Tuesday and Wednesday this week before playing in three consecutive contests over the weekend. He could be activated from the injured list soon thereafter.

Urias sent 2-for-4 with an RBI single, a run-scoring double and a run in a loss to the Orioles on Sunday.

Urias accounted for almost all of the Mariners' offense on the afternoon, plating Luke Raley and Dylan Moore with a single and double, respectively. The 26-year-old snapped an 0-for-15 skid that had encompassed his previous seven games, and his multi-hit effort was his first of a season where he's still carrying an abysmal .162/.279/.338 across 86 plate appearances.

The Rangers optioned Wendzel to Triple-A Round Rock on Monday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Wendzel is just 2-for-29 at the plate this season and hadn't played in more than a week, so this transaction comes as no surprise. The Rangers have not announced a corresponding move, but Grant speculates that Sam Huff could be recalled.

Riley (side) is not in the lineup for the first game of Monday's doubleheader versus the Padres.

Riley hasn't played in more than a week due to intercostal inflammation in his left side. He hopes to try swinging a bat soon but would appear to be at least a few days away from returning to the lineup. Zack Short will again be at third base for Atlanta in Monday's afternoon tilt.

Swanson (knee) was activated from the 10-day injured list Monday night, per MLB's transaction log.

Swanson was expected to be activated prior to Tuesday's game against Atlanta, and the team has elected to make the move official a bit earlier than anticipated despite not having a game Monday. Miles Mastrobuoni and Pete Crow-Armstrong were optioned to Triple-A Iowa in corresponding moves, making room for the upcoming promotion of Luis Vazquez.

The Mariners optioned Rivas to Triple-A Tacoma on Monday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Rivas has been up with the big club for nearly four weeks but has hardly played, accruing just six plate appearances. He'll see more regular action back a Tacoma.

The Mariners activated Crawford (oblique) from the 10-day injured list Monday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

The Mariners put Crawford through a full pregame workout Monday, which is surely the reason why he's not in the lineup. He will be available off the bench, though, before likely returning to the starting nine Tuesday. Dylan Moore will handle shortstop again Monday.

DeJong went 3-for-4 with a homer, a stolen base, two RBI and two runs scored in Monday's loss to Toronto.

DeJong cracked his seventh home run of the season in the fourth inning, hitting it 402 feet to center. The Chicago shortstop has enjoyed a hot start to May, hitting .288 (17-for-59) with four homers, 12 runs scored and eight RBI this month. Overall, DeJong is now slashing .246/.295/.462 in 139 plate appearances while playing shortstop every day for the White Sox.

Crawford (oblique) will go through a pregame workout Monday before likely being activated from the injured list Tuesday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Crawford is with the Mariners in New York and insists he's ready to go, but the club wants to see him get through a workout first before it brings him back. He's been out since late April with a Grade 1 right oblique strain. Dylan Moore is handling shortstop again for Seattle on Monday.

The Giants optioned Fitzgerald to Triple-A Sacramento on Monday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The corresponding move is expected to be waiver claim Ryan McKenna officially being added to the roster. Fitzgerald has slashed a solid .269/.309/.442 in 55 plate appearances this season, although that's come with a 36.4 percent strikeout rate and 3.6 percent walk rate.

Crow-Armstrong was optioned to Triple-A Iowa on Monday.

Crow-Armstrong will return to Iowa after joining the major-league roster in late April, batting .236 with one home run, nine RBI, four runs scored and five stolen bases over 55 at-bats in 23 contests. The 22-year-old had been struggling to find consistent playing time in Chicago's lineup recently and he'll now see some extended run once again at Triple-A.

Merrill is out of the lineup for Game 2 of Monday's doubleheader in Atlanta.

Merrill started in center field in Game 1 and went 1-for-4 with two RBI, as he brought home San Diego's first two runs on a groundout and a single. Jose Azocar will take over in center field for the nightcap.

Astros manager Joe Espada said that McCormick (hamstring) will not be activated from the 10-day injured list prior to Monday's game versus the Angels, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

However, McCormick is with the Astros at Minute Maid Park and will go through a pregame workout. His activation will come "soon," per Espada, with Tuesday seeming like a distinct possibility. McCormick has been out for all of May with a right hamstring injury.

Haggerty was diagnosed with a torn Achilles on Monday and will miss the rest of the 2024 season, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports. He was placed on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Tacoma on Sunday.

The 29-year-old was optioned to Tacoma last week but suffered the injury over the weekend in just his second game back with the affiliate. Haggerty went 1-for-15 during a brief run in the big leagues this season and will likely be sidelined for the start of the 2025 campaign.

Thomas (knee) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Harrisburg on Tuesday, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Thomas is set to play Tuesday and Wednesday before being reevaluated. Assuming all goes well, it would set him up to be activated ahead of the Nationals' weekend series against the Mariners. Thomas has missed nearly a month of action with a Grade 2 MCL sprain of his left knee.

Jenkins (hamstring) has been assigned to the FCL Twins on a rehab assignment, Sam Dykstra of MiLB.com reports.

Jenkins made just one plate appearance before straining his left hamstring and landing on the injured list at Single-A Fort Myers. As one the top prospects in baseball it was thought he may quickly advance to High-A Cedar Rapids this summer, so this injury may mean he spends most of the season at Single-A.

May (elbow) has started throwing off a mound at the Dodgers' team facility in Arizona, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

May has been slowly working his way back from the surgery underwent on his right flexor tendon and UCL in July. The right-hander will progressively increase his workload on the mound before he'll likely throw live batting practice and ultimately go on an extended minor-league rehab assignment. The organization will likely be especially cautious in their approach to May's recovery and his return to the majors is currently projected to come around the All-Star break.

Miller (shoulder) is expected to throw a simulated game Tuesday, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

Miller continues to make progress in his recovery after being sent to the 15-day injured list April 13 due to right shoulder inflammation. He successfully completed a bullpen session Saturday, and as expected, he's now been given the green light to toss a sim game. Miller will likely be sent out on a rehab assignment later in the week, assuming all goes well Tuesday.

Ross was removed from Monday's start against the Marlins after one scoreless inning due to back tightness, Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin reports.

Ross was reportedly dealing with some back tightness before Monday's start, but he felt good enough to give it a go after warming up. However, his back tightened back up during a 15-pitch first inning, and he's been officially diagnosed with a low back strain. Jared Koenig was called upon out of the bullpen following the right-hander's departure and will likely be asked to eat up a few frames.

Sheehan revealed Monday that last week's right elbow surgery was an internal brace procedure, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

The internal brace procedure typically allows for a shorter rehab than your traditional Tommy John surgery, although Sheehan noted Monday that he's been told to expect the rehab to last 13 months. That puts the young right-hander out until around the All-Star break next year.

Berrios (5-3) earned the win Monday against the White Sox, allowing three runs on eight hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out six.

With a 100-pitch effort, Berrios collected his first win since April 20 and second consecutive quality start. The Blue Jays right-hander has posted an impressive eight quality starts in 10 total games started. Berrios owns a 2.98 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 48:18 K:BB in 60.1 innings this season. He is scheduled to face the Tigers on the road in his next start this weekend.

Fedde (4-1) took the loss Monday against Toronto, allowing five runs on seven hits and one walk over six innings. He struck out two.

Fedde got hit hard in his start, as five of the seven hits he yielded went for extra bases. Despite the rough outing, the 31-year-old righty sports a 3.10 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 52:15 K:BB over 58 innings this season. Fedde is slated to face Baltimore at home in his next start this weekend.

Kelly (shoulder) is set to begin his throwing program Monday, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

Kelly has been on the 15-day injured list since May 6 with a right shoulder strain and he will now take the first step towards making his return. The right-hander will likely need to build up his workload and even potentially make a trip to the minors for a rehab assignment. Depending on how his shoulder responds to the beginning of his throwing program, Kelly will receive a timetable for his return, which currently appears to be at least a week away at the earliest.

Phillips (hamstring) is expected to make 2-to-3 rehab appearances before being activated from the 15-day injured list, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

Stephen estimates that Phillips is about a week away from a return, though how the right-hander fares during his rehab outings will ultimately dictate his exact return date. He's been shut down since May 3 since suffering a right hamstring strain.

Astros manager Joe Espada said that Pressly (finger) will be available out of the bullpen Monday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Pressly has been off limits for a few days while dealing with soreness in a finger on his right hand, but it would seem he's fully recovered now. The veteran reliever has struggled this season, collecting a 5.51 ERA and 1.78 WHIP through 16.1 innings.

Middleton (forearm) will be evaluated for potential activation from the injured list following back-to-back rehab appearances with Double-A Springfield on Wednesday and Thursday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Middleton hasn't allowed a hit or a run in two scoreless rehab innings so far, although he's also walked three and has not recorded a strikeout. He's been out all season with a right forearm strain.

Gallegos (shoulder) will throw another bullpen session Tuesday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

It will be his third since going on the injured list two weeks ago with a right shoulder impingement. Gallegos could continue with his mound work after that or perhaps will be cleared to begin a rehab assignment. It sounds like he might be ready to rejoin the Cardinals' bullpen in late May or early June.

Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said Monday that Thompson is a candidate to start Saturday versus the Cubs, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

It sounds like the decision will come down to either Thompson or Andre Pallante, although the team doesn't appear close to making that call. Thompson was sent down last month after posting a 9.53 ERA over five appearances (two starts). He's managed to put up a 1.84 ERA in 14.2 frames with Triple-A Memphis, although that's come with a 14:13 K:BB.

Garver is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Yankees.

Garver returned to action Friday after missing a couple games due to back spasms, but he now finds himself on the bench for a second straight contest. Mitch Haniger will serve as the designated hitter while Luke Raley receives a start in the outfield.

Velazquez is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Tigers.

Velazquez had started seven of the last eight contests but will begin this one on the bench. Salvador Perez will be the designated hitter, Hunter Renfroe will start in right field and Freddy Fermin will be at catcher.

Martinez (illness) will start at designated hitter and bat cleanup in Monday's game in Cleveland.

Martinez sat out Sunday's contest due to flu-like symptoms but is feeling well enough to give it a go in this one. The veteran DH has slashed .315/.359/.466 with two home runs in 21 games to begin his tenure with the Mets.

Pederson went 3-for-3 with a double and RBI in Sunday's win over the Tigers.

Pederson opened up the scoring with an RBI-double in the first inning and then plated another run the following frame. He's now got three games with at least three hits this month and has six hits over his last five games. Though he's strictly been platooning against righties, Pederson has been effective when in the lineup, slashing .317/.421/.558 with five homers, 12 RBI, 16 runs and a 15:30 BB:K in 127 plate appearances.

Jimenez went 1-for-4 with a stolen base Sunday against the Yankees.

Jimenez had a hit in all three games of the team's weekend series but none went for extra bases and he also didn't record any RBI or runs. However, he did steal his third base of the season Sunday and his second in his last four games. It's unclear what has led to his sudden aggressiveness on the basepaths, as he had never attempted a stolen base across the first five seasons of his career.

O'Hearn went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 6-3 win over the Mariners.

O'Hearn had gone nine games without an extra-base hit, hitting .240 (6-for-25) with three RBI in that span. The 30-year-old broke his power drought with a third-inning homer off Mariners starter George Kirby to give the Orioles a 4-1 lead. O'Hearn is up to six homers, 15 RBI, 15 runs scored and a .288/.368/.510 slash line through 33 contests in a strong-side platoon role while seeing time at designated hitter and first base and in the corner outfield spots.
