  • Kenny Golladay: Won't join Jets after workout

Golladay worked out with the Jets on Wednesday but won't sign with the team, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Golladay has been searching for any opportunity to make an impression since being let go by the Giants back in March, but for now he has to keep looking. The 29-year-old wideout posted back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons with Detroit in 2018 and 2019, but he hasn't recorded 40 catches in any season since.

  • Kenny Golladay: Let go by G-Men

The Giants released Golladay on Wednesday, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports. The news comes as no surprise, as Golladay put up a pair of highly unproductive seasons for the Giants after signing a four-year, $72 million contract in 2021. The move will save New York $6.7 million against the salary cap. As for Golladay, he's unlikely to draw anything more than a one-year deal at a low salary level as he heads into free agency. The wideout had a pair of 1,000-plus yard receiving seasons in four years with the Lions but tallied a meager six catches on 17 targets for 81 yards and a touchdown in 2022.

  • Kenny Golladay: Will be released

The Giants will release Golladay on March 15, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. By waiting until the new league year starts, the Giants will save $6.7 million against their salary cap. The 2017 third-round pick signed a massive four-year, $72 million contract with New York in March of 2021, but he failed to live up to the lofty deal, making his release unsurprising. He posted back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons with the Lions in 2018 and 2019 and secured 16 touchdowns during that stretch. However, he's caught just 63 passes for 940 yards and three scores in 31 appearances over the past three seasons. Per Field Yates of ESPN, Golladay will still be owed $4.5 million by the Giants after his release, so he may be willing to take a cheaper deal with a contending team in 2023, though it remains to be seen what type of attention he'll draw as a free agent.

  • Giants' Kenny Golladay: Finally finds end zone

Golladay caught two of seven targets for 30 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 22-16 loss to the Eagles. In his 26th and potentially final game for the Giants, Golladay finally got into the end zone for his first TD with the team, catching a 25-yard toss from Davis Webb late in the fourth quarter during a game in which New York was resting most of its starters. Golladay suited up for 12 games this season and finished with a 6-81-1 line on 17 targets, disastrous production relative to his cap hit of over $21 million. The 29-year-old has two more years remaining on his current deal, but it seems almost certain the Giants will cut him loose in the offseason.

  • Giants' Kenny Golladay: Not targeted Week 14

Golladay did not see any targets in the Giants' Week 14 loss to Philadelphia on Sunday. Golladay logged only 11 offensive snaps in the contest, significantly less than the amount tallied by fellow wideouts Richie James (58), Isaiah Hodgins (57) and Darius Slayton (53). It may be hard to remember that Golladay was slated to be New York's top wideout coming into the campaign, as he hasn't come close to matching the 44 offensive snaps he logged Week 1 against Tennessee. In fact, Golladay has only two catches since the season opener, both of which came Week 11 against Detroit. He's nowhere near the fantasy radar at this point.

  • Giants' Kenny Golladay: Gets back to full participation

Golladay (illness) was a full practice participant Wednesday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Golladay sat out this past Sunday's 20-20 tie with the Commanders due to an illness that he came down with one day prior. Now that he's back at practice in full capacity, however, he's good to go moving forward. Still, Golladay looks to be no better than fourth in the receiver pecking order for the Giants, with all of Darius Slayton, Isaiah Hodgins and Richie James (knee) better bets to connect with quarterback Daniel Jones on game days.

  • Giants' Kenny Golladay: Won't play Sunday with illness

Golladay (illness) is listed as inactive Sunday versus the Commanders. Golladay was tacked on to the Giants' Week 13 injury report Saturday, suddenly leaving him questionable for Sunday's game due to an illness. While there was a belief he'd be able to play, he felt worse when he woke up Sunday morning and now won't be available to the team's offense, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. With Golladay out, Darius Slayton (illness), Richie James (knee), Isaiah Hodgins, Marcus Johnson and David Sills are the active wide receivers for New York this week.

  • Giants' Kenny Golladay: Expected to play

Golladay (illness), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Commanders, is expected to be healthy enough to play, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Darius Slayton (illness) is also expected to play, according to Rapoport, so Golladay may not see an increased role, although the status of fellow wideout Richie James (knee) remains uncertain. Even with New York's receiving corps becoming more and more depleted as the season has rolled along, Golladay has yet to carve out a sizable role. While suiting up in each of the Giants' last three games, Golladay has played between 31 and 43 percent of the snaps on offense while hauling in two of four targets for 29 yards over that span.

  • Giants' Kenny Golladay: Added to injury report

Golladay was added to the injury report Saturday with an illness and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Commanders, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. The Giants are already dangerously thin at wide receiver and the likes of Darius Slayton (illness) and Richie James (knee) being questionable doesn't help matters either. Golladay has drawn just four targets over the last three weeks combined since returning from a multi-week absence due to a hamstring injury, but the veteran receiver has at least been soaking up a decent number of snaps per game. Expect the Giants to provide more information regarding the numerous injuries to their pass catchers before the 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff.

  • Giants' Kenny Golladay: Invisible again Thursday

Golladay didn't draw any targets in Thursday's 28-20 loss to the Cowboys. When Wan'Dale Robinson (knee) was ruled out for the season early in the week, there was some thought that Golladay could be the primary beneficiary among the Giants' wide receivers. Instead, Golladay didn't see a single target for the second time this season and recorded his lowest offensive snap count (18) since Week 2 (not including games he missed due to injury). Behind clear top wideout Darius Slayton, Richie James stepped up with five catches for 41 yards and a touchdown while playing 41 offensive snaps. Meanwhile, Isaiah Hodgins remained involved with three catches for 31 yards on 40 offensive snaps, so it's hard to envision Golladay as any higher than fourth on the wide-receiver depth chart at the moment.

  • Giants' Kenny Golladay: Reels in both targets versus Lions

Golladay finished a Week 11 loss to Detroit on Sunday with two catches on two targets for 29 yards. Golladay also saw two targets last week against Houston, but he dropped them both. With that in mind, his performance Sunday was a promising step in the right direction despite the fact that six Giants tallied more targets and four racked up more receiving yards. Rookie wideout Wan'Dale Robinson left the contest with a knee injury and was later seen on crutches, so Golladay may move up the depth chart by default despite recording just four catches for 51 yards on the season. New York plays Dallas on Thanksgiving, and that game should provide some insight about the extent to which Golladay's opportunity may increase.

  • Giants' Kenny Golladay: Playing in Week 11

Golladay (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Lions. Golladay hasn't been able to avoid the injury bug this season, with a hamstring issue capping his practice reps for the entirety of Week 11 prep. While he'll be available Sunday, he's behind Darius Slayton, rookie Wan'Dale Robinson and likely newcomer Isaiah Hodgins in the pecking order at wide receiver for the Giants. With just two catches to his name in five games this season, Golladay remains off the fantasy radar as a member of a run-heavy offense.

  • Giants' Kenny Golladay: Questionable but should play

Golladay (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Lions, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports. Leonard added that he believes Golladay will play. Even if Golladay suits up, he's likely to play a minimal role against his former team, as he hasn't registered a catch since Week 1.

  • Giants' Kenny Golladay: Another limited showing

Golladay (hamstring) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. In his return from a four-game absence Week 10 against the Texans, Golladay played 37 percent of the offensive snaps but failed to haul in either of his two targets. This week, he swapped a knee issue for a hamstring concern on the Giants' injury report. After back-to-back capped sessions, Golladay may have to practice fully Friday in order to enter the weekend without a designation for Sunday's contest versus the Lions.

  • Giants' Kenny Golladay: Bothered by hamstring

Golladay was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice due to a hamstring injury, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Golladay returned last week after missing more than a month with an MCL sprain of his knee and failed to catch a pass on two targets in Sunday's 24-16 win over the Texans. He's now dealing with another health issue and likely won't be a starter even if he plays this Sunday against the Lions.

  • Giants' Kenny Golladay: Drops both Week 10 targets

Golladay (knee) failed to catch either of his two targets in Sunday's 24-16 win over the Texans. Golladay dropped both of the balls thrown his way. The first was forgivable on a slightly off-target pass from Daniel Jones, but the second one was a blatant drop by the much maligned wide receiver. After the second drop, Golladay spent most of the game on the sideline while Isaiah Hodgins filled in opposite Darius Slayton and Wan'Dale Robinson manned the slot. Golladay's rarely targeted and has bungled his few opportunities in 2022, so it's fair to wonder if his time as a contributor for the Giants has come to a close.

  • Giants' Kenny Golladay: Back in action Sunday

Golladay (knee) is listed as active Sunday against the Texans. Making his first appearance since Week 4, Golladay did enough during Week 10 prep to prove the health of the knee injury that sidelined him. His usage was sporadic prior to the absence, as he earned a 76 percent share of the snaps in the season opener before settling between three and 39 percent in his three other appearances. With Golladay back in the lineup, he'll enter a receiving corps led by Darius Slayton and Wan'Dale Robinson, so targets will be available from quarterback Daniel Jones.

  • Giants' Kenny Golladay: May have big role Sunday

Golladay (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Texans, but he's expected to play and could have a prominent role, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports. Golladay fell out of favor with head coach Brian Daboll earlier this season and then missed Weeks 5 through 8 with an MCL sprain, but he's on track to return after a Week 9 bye, joining a wideout group led by Darius Slayton, Marcus Johnson and Wan'Dale Robinson the past month. Golladay could displace Slayton or Johnson from a starting role on the outside, with the latter seeming more vulnerable based on lack of production prior to the bye. It's also possible Golladay has a lesser role off the bench, of course, in addition to whatever chance there is that he doesn't end up playing.

  • Giants' Kenny Golladay: Officially listed as questionable

Golladay (knee) will be listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Texans, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports. Coach Brian Daboll said Friday he's "optimistic" about Golladay's chances of retaking the field for the first time since Week 4, per Charlotte Carroll of The Athletic, though an official word on his status may not be revealed until closer to Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff. The veteran wideout has just two catches for 22 yards on six targets through four appearances this season.

  • Giants' Kenny Golladay: Limited on practice estimate

Golladay (knee) was listed as limited on Thursday's estimated injury report, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. The Giants were given the day off Thursday, but Golladay would have maintained his activity level from the first practice of Week 10 prep, where he had a cap on his reps. On Wednesday, he told Salomone that he had put together back-to-back "good" days and felt "good," so the wide receiver may be able to uphold coach Brian Daboll's statement from Tuesday, in which he relayed to Charlotte Carroll of The Athletic that Golladay "should be ready to go" Sunday against the Texans. Friday's injury report could unveil whether or not Golladay is poised for his first appearance since Week 4.
