Canha went 1-for-3 with a grand slam and two walks Saturday in an 8-2 victory versus the Astros.
Canha set the tone early for the Tigers with a second-inning grand slam off Houston starter Cristian Javier. It was a much-needed big hit for the veteran slugger, who had gone 2-for-24 without an RBI while striking out nine times over his previous six games. The grand slam was the third of Canha's career.

Canha was held out of Tuesday's 11-7 win due to an upper-respiratory illness and will sit out again Wednesday. Canha will get the day off to rest and recover from the illness, leaving DH work to Jake Rogers while Carson Kelly fills in behind the plate. Canha's five homers trail only Riley Greene on the Tigers.

Canha went 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Monday's win over the Rays.
Canha opened the scoring Monday night with a 392-foot solo shot off Zack Littell in the first inning. The 35-year-old veteran later added a second RBI via a single in the fifth inning. Canha has become quite comfortable with his new Detroit team, generating four homers with 11 RBI and 11 runs while slashing .247/.396/.479 over 91 plate appearances.

Canha continues to provide steady production for the Tigers, as he has an .837 OPS across 18 games. The veteran outfielder recorded a .755 OPS last season and has actually only finished above .800 once during his MLB career, which came back in 2019 when he posted a .913 OPS and hit a career-high 26 home runs with the Athletics. Even if he slips into the .700 range, Canha should remain a solid if not spectacular fantasy asset.

He later walked and came around to score on a Matt Vierling single during the fifth frame before driving in Jake Rogers on an RBI single of his own in the sixth. Canha is now slashing .243/.404/.541 with three homers and six RBI across his first 47 plate appearances with the Tigers.
