Mavericks' Derrick Jones: Balanced outing in Game 4 loss
Jones posted 14 points (6-9 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 0-1 FT), seven rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal in 33 minutes during Sunday's 116-111 loss to the Clippers in Game 4 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Jones responded from a scoreless outing in Game 3 by putting forth one of his best performances of the first-round series Sunday in Dallas' loss against Los Angeles. Although Jones briefly headed to the locker room Sunday, he ended second on the team in rebounds, matching his playoff high thus far, while ending as one of four Mavericks with a double-digit point total. Jones notched his highest scoring total of the series, surpassing the double-digit mark in three of his four postseason outings.

Mavericks' Luka Doncic: Another triple-double in Game 4
Doncic totaled 29 points (10-24 FG, 1-9 3Pt, 8-10 FT), 10 rebounds, 10 assists and one block across 45 minutes during Sunday's 116-111 loss to the Clippers in Game 4 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Doncic continues to do it all for the Mavericks in the series against the Clippers, doing so again Sunday while leading all players in rebounds and assists. Doncic has posted a triple-double in two straight games, scoring north of 20 points in all four postseason outings. Look for another big performance from Doncic in Game 5 as he attempts to lift Dallas to a lead in the series.

Mavericks' Kyrie Irving: Strong from deep as top scorer
Irving finished Sunday's 116-111 loss to the Clippers in Game 4 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs with 40 points (14-25 FG, 6-12 3Pt, 6-6 FT), seven rebounds and five assists over 45 minutes.
Irving put on a show offensively for Dallas in Sunday's contest, leading all players in scoring while pacing the Mavericks in threes made and ending second on the team in rebounds and assists in a losing effort. Irving has turned things up a notch in the postseason, tallying at least 20 points in all four games of the first-round series while surpassing the 30-point mark in the last two contests.

Mavericks' Luka Doncic: Gets green light
Doncic (knee) is available for Sunday's Game 4 against the Clippers.
Doncic briefly left Game 3 due to right knee soreness and was listed as questionable for Game 4, but there's been no mention of any restrictions for the MVP candidate. Across the first three games of the opening-round series, Doncic averaged 29.0 points, 9.7 rebounds, 8.0 assists and 1.3 steals in 42.7 minutes.

Mavericks' Tim Hardaway: Downgraded to out
Hardaway (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's Game 4 against the Clippers, Eddie Sefko of the Mavericks' official site reports.
As expected, Hardaway has been downgraded from doubtful to out due to a right ankle sprain. In Hardaway's absence, Josh Green and Dante Exum are candidates for increased roles, while Jaden Hardy may crack the postseason rotation.

Hardaway left Game 2 of the series Tuesday after just six minutes of action and didn't feature in Game 3, so he's been extremely limited in the series. The doubtful tag isn't encouraging ahead of Sunday's contest, but an official announcement should be made closer to Sunday's 3:30 p.m. ET tipoff. Even if he's available, Hardaway would likely come off the bench, and his minutes could be closely monitored given his recent injury issues.

Doncic has been impressive for the Mavericks during the first-round matchup against the Clippers, averaging 29.0 points, 9.7 rebounds and 8.0 assists per game through the first three contests. Even though it's not surprising to see Doncic dealing with soreness given his workload throughout the season, the issue shouldn't keep him away from playing -- and handling his usual usage -- in Sunday's contest.

Hardy finished with one point (0-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT), one assist and one steal in three minutes during Friday's 101-90 win over the Clippers in Game 3 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Hardy, along with A.J. Lawson and Dwight Powell, secured a handful of minutes down the stretch Friday. With the game well in hand, the Mavericks were able to give their fringe players a rare opportunity to see playoff basketball. This is not something we should expect to see very often moving forward.

Irving finished with 21 points (8-17 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, six assists and two steals across 37 minutes during Friday's 101-90 win over the Clippers in Game 3 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Despite a sluggish start to the game, Irving delivered when it mattered, helping the Mavericks to an emphatic victory. Both he and Luka Doncic are at the peak of their powers at the moment. A repeat performance in Game 4 will see Dallas on the cusp of an impressive first-round victory.
