  • Jaguars' Foye Oluokun: Inks four-year extension

The Jaguars signed Oluokun to a four-year, $45 million contract extension Friday.

Oluokun's new deal reportedly includes $22.5 million guaranteed at signing, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. In his last three seasons, Oluokun has racked up 192, 184 and 173 total tackles, making him one of the most feared interior linebackers in the league. Now heading into his age-29 season, Oluokun figures to remain a high-end IDP fantasy asset.

  • Jaguars' Foye Oluokun: Totals 173 tackles in 2023

Oluokun finished the 2023 regular season with 173 tackles (111 solo), 2.5 sacks, one interception and one forced fumble in 17 games.

The 28-year-old was unable to clear 180 tackles for the third straight season, but he still led the Jaguars in the category and ranked fourth in the NFL. Oluokun is entering the final year of the three-year, $45 million pact he signed with Jacksonville in 2022, and he should again be a top IDP linebacker in 2024.

  • Jaguars' Foye Oluokun: Relatively quiet day in win

Oluokun recorded six tackles (three solo) and a pass defensed in Sunday's 26-0 win versus the Panthers.

In a game where Carolina posted only 15 rushing attempts, Oluokun had fewer chances than usual to tackle ball carriers, and he tied his season-low tackle total. Tennessee has leaned more heavily on the run this year, so Oluokun should see more opportunities against the Titans in Week 18.

  • Jaguars' Foye Oluokun: Logs double-digit tackles again

Oluokun posted 12 tackles (seven solo) and one quarterback hit Sunday in the Week 16 loss to Tampa Bay.

As has become a near-weekly occurrence, Oluokun led the Jaguars in stops Sunday, hitting the double-digit mark for the fourth time over the past five weeks and for the 10th time overall this season. The veteran linebacker has once again been an elite IDP option this season, as he ranks second in the NFL with 160 tackles, including 2.5 sacks, while adding an interception that was returned for a touchdown and a forced fumble. Despite Oluokun's big numbers, he's actually slightly below the pace that led to him recording 184 tackles last year, and he'll need to surpass Zaire Franklin (whom he currently trails by one stop) in order to finish as the league's leading tackler for the third straight campaign.

  • Jaguars' Foye Oluokun: Leads team in tackles Week 8

Oluokun had 11 tackles (nine solo) and a forced fumble in Sunday's 20-10 win over the Steelers.

He leads the team with 92 tackles -- 44 ahead of Devin Lloyd, who sits in second on the team, and ranks second in the NFL behind Zaire Franklin (102). Oluokun has played on every defensive snap for the Jaguars this year and will likely hit 100-plus tackles for the season. The Jaguars have a bye in Week 10 against the 49ers.

  • Jaguars' Foye Oluokun: Scores first career TD on pick six

Oluokon notched 14 tackles (nine solo) and two passes defensed, including an interception that he returned for a 24-yard touchdown, in Thursday's 31-24 win over the Saints.

Oluokon caught a deflected ball and turned it back the other way, beating New Orleans' offense to the end zone for his first NFL touchdown. The 28-year-old linebacker also compiled a gaudy tackle total, but that's hardly unusual for Oluokon, who led the NFL in tackles each of the previous two seasons and holds the league lead again with 81 tackles (53 solo) in 2023, albeit with the rest of the league yet to play in Week 7.

Oluokun recorded seven tackles (five solo) in Sunday's 25-20 victory over the Bills.

Oluokun's tackle total is his lowest in the season and his second straight week in single digits. He logged double digits through the first three weeks of the season. He continues to be reliable for the Jags' defense, as he has yet to miss a snap this season. He will look to get a little more involved when Jacksonville hosts the Colts in Week 6.
