Seager went 2-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI in Sunday's 6-2 win over the Twins. Seager had just two homers through the end of April, but his power swing has returned in a big way. The shortstop has clubbed six homers over his last six games and is now at 11 long balls on the year. He's also gone 13-for-37 (.351) during a 10-game hitting streak. Seager's surge has him up to a .258/.349/.447 slash line with 24 RBI, 25 runs scored, no stolen bases and three doubles through 49 contests overall.... See More ... See Less

Rangers' Corey Seager: Homers in loss
Seager went 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run in Friday's 3-2 loss to Minnesota. Seager returned to the lineup Friday after a day off, and his bat remained hot. He homered for a fourth straight game, connecting in his first at-bat to give the Rangers an early 2-0 lead. He's hit safely in eight straight (.357, five homers) and has an on-base streak of 18 games (.420 OBP, seven homers).... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Corey Seager: Day off Thursday
Seager is absent from the lineup for Thursday's contest in Philadelphia. Seager has hit home runs in three straight games, but he will be given a breather Thursday as the Rangers go up against Zack Wheeler and the Phillies. Josh Smith will slide over to shortstop and Ezequiel Duran will occupy third base while Seager rests.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Corey Seager: Homer streak continues
Seager went 2-for-3 with two walks and a solo home run during Wednesday's 11-4 loss to Philadelphia. Seager reached base four times Wednesday, but he was only able to reach home plate on a solo homer in the seventh off Gregory Soto. The shortstop has gone yard in three straight games and has hit safely in 14 of his last 16 games. Seager trails only Gunnar Henderson and Elly De La Cruz for the most home runs at the shortstop position.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Corey Seager: Homers again Tuesday
Seager went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Phillies. Seager had a rough time against Phillies starter Ranger Suarez, going 0-for-4 with four strikeouts to start the day. However, he'd turn his night around with a solo home run off Jeff Hoffman in the eighth inning, cutting Texas' deficit to 3-2. The long ball extended Seager's hitting streak to six games -- he's gone 7-for-22 (.318) with three homers in that span. The 30-year-old shortstop is now slashing .246/.335/.383 with seven homers, 18 RBI and 20 runs scored through 200 plate appearances this season.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Corey Seager: Provides lone run in loss
Seager went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and two walks in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Angels. Seager's solid May continues -- he has gone 17-for-64 (.266) with four homers and nine RBI over 17 contests this month. The shortstop provided the Rangers' lone run against Jose Soriano. Seager's had a down year across the board with a .247/.338/.371 slash line, six homers, 17 RBI, 19 runs scored and three doubles through 44 games. The bright side is his 11.8 percent walk rate, which is the highest it's been in his three years as a Ranger.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Corey Seager: Goes yard again
Seaver went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during Tuesday's 7-4 loss to Cleveland. Seager took advantage of the Globe Life Field roof being open, swatting a solo home run off Ben Lively in the third inning. The shortstop has hit three home runs in his last eight games and is batting .267 with six RBI and an 11.4 percent K rate during that stretch.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Corey Seager: Homers in loss
Seager went 2-for-3 with a walk, a home run and two RBI in Friday's 4-2 loss the Rockies. Seager launched a solo home run to lead off the sixth inning and then walked with the bases loaded an inning later. He struggled through the first five weeks of the season -- perhaps attributable to missing much of spring training after undergoing hernia surgery in January -- and his batting average was .219 as of May 2. Since then, Seager has hit safely in six of seven games, going 9-for-28 (.321) with two home runs and seven RBI.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Corey Seager: Taking seat for nightcap
Seager is not in the lineup for Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader versus the Athletics. The 30-year-old went 0-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout in the Game 1 loss, which ended a modest five-game hit streak. Josh Smith will shift to shortstop and Ezequiel Duran will start at third base while Seager receives some rest in the nightcap.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Corey Seager: Turns tide with three-run homer
Seager went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run Monday in a 4-2 victory against Oakland. Texas was down 2-0 heading into the eighth frame before Seager turned the team's fortunes around with a two-out, three-run blast to center field. It was a much-needed big moment for the star shortstop, as he came into the contest batting just .190 in May and .228 overall on the season. After slugging 33 homers and driving in 96 runs last year, Seager has just three homers and 13 RBI through 33 games in 2024. Monday marked the first time he has driven in multiple runs in a contest since Texas' second game of the season.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Corey Seager: Fighting slump
Seager went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Friday's 7-1 loss to Kansas City. Seager delivered the Rangers' lone run with a single in the third inning. He's been mired in a slump and entered Friday's game batting .073 (3-for-41) with two RBI over the previous 11 games. Rangers general manager Chris Young took the long view when speaking with Kenndi Landry of MLB.com, indicating the club expected Seager to need some time to get going after undergoing hernia surgery in January. Young also feels there has been some bad luck, which speaks to the shortstop's .269 BABIP.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Corey Seager: Swats second homer
Seager went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 8-4 loss to the Reds. Seager, who was not in the original starting lineup for Saturday's game, was a late addition. The home run was his second of the season. Seager's off to a slow start, slashing .247/.336/.330 over 110 plate appearances, which is perhaps disappointing from a player that finished second in AL MVP voting last season. However, it's also understandable when considering Seager underwent offseason hernia surgery and missed all but the final week of spring training.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Corey Seager: Will play after all
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Seager will start at shortstop for Saturday's game against the Reds, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports. Seager left Wednesday's game against the Mariners after taking a pitch off his shin, and he played one game at DH before returning to shortstop in the series opener against the Reds on Friday. Seager was initially set to take Saturday off, but Bochy has reinserted the 30-year-old back into the starting lineup. With Seager at shortstop, Josh Smith will shift to third base while Ezequiel Duran will move to the bench.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Corey Seager: Taking a breather Saturday
Seager is not in the Rangers' starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Reds. Seager will begin Saturday's game in the dugout as he gets a rest day for the first time since April 15. Since then, Seager has gone 6-for-37 with one run and one RBI. Josh Smith will start at shortstop and Ezequiel Duran at third base against Reds right-hander Hunter Greene.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Corey Seager: Returns to shortstop
Seager started at shortstop and went 1-for-4 in Friday's 2-1 win over the Reds. Seager, who was removed from a game Wednesday after getting hit by a pitch on the shin, has played in both games since. He served as the DH on Thursday before returning to the field Friday.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Corey Seager: Cleared for DH duties Thursday
Seager (shin) will serve as the Rangers' designated hitter and No. 2 batter in Thursday's game against the Mariners. Seager was removed late in Wednesday's 5-1 win over Seattle after getting hit by a pitch in the seventh inning. According to Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News, manager Bruce Bochy said after the contest that Seager's left shin "swelled up pretty good," but the 29-year-old evidently feels good enough Thursday to give it a go, albeit in a non-defensive role. Josh Smith will take over Seager's usual duties at shortstop.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Corey Seager: Exits with bruised shin
Seager was removed from Wednesday's game against the Mariners due to a left shin contusion, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports. Seager remained in the game to run the bases after taking a pitch off his shin in the seventh inning, but he was replaced on defense prior to the eighth. His ability to remain in the game immediately after getting hit suggests his injury is relatively minor, though it's still possible the Rangers sit him down for Thursday's series finale. The 29-year-old infielder went 0-for-2 with a walk before being pulled Wednesday and is now slashing .192/.276/.192 across his last seven games.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Corey Seager: Getting breather Monday
Seager is not in the lineup for Monday's game in Detroit. It's a routine day off for Seager, who has now started 14 of 17 games so far this season. The Rangers are going with Josh Smith at shortstop and Ezequiel Duran at third base.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Corey Seager: Not in Tuesday's lineup
Seager is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the A's. Seager started the past seven games and will take a seat after posting an .889 OPS during that stretch. It's likely just a maintenance day for the veteran shortstop since he was sidelined for most of spring training while recovering from offseason hernia surgery. Josh Smith will man shortstop in his place Tuesday.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Corey Seager: Launches first home run
Seager went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Wednesday's win over the Rays. Leading off the sixth inning, Seager snapped a scoreless tie with a long ball that just snuck inside the right-field foul pole for his first home run of the campaign. The 29-year-old Seager has shown few signs of rust despite being limited by injuries during spring training -- he's now 8-for-22 (.364 average) with four runs scored and three RBI to start the season after slashing .327/.390/.623 with 33 homers and 96 RBI in 2023....
