  • Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Power surge continues

McMahon went 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run Sunday against the Phillies.

McMahon popped his 10th home run of the season in the first inning, and half of those long balls have come in his last 10 starts. In that span, he's scored 10 runs and driven in 11 while hitting .268. McMahon has also cut his strikeout rate to 24.9 percent across 225 plate appearances, down 3.5 percentage points from his career clip.

  • Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Idle against southpaw

McMahon isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Phillies.

The lefty-hitting McMahon will avoid a matchup with lefty Cristopher Sanchez on Friday. Alan Trejo will start at third base and bat ninth. McMahon has homered in three of his last four games and has scored a run in eight straight outings.

  • Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Homers in third straight

McMahon went 2-for-6 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's win over Oakland.

McMahon went hitless in his first four at-bats before adding a single in the ninth and a two-run homer in the top of the 12th, which would end up being the game winner. It marked the third baseman's third consecutive game with a home run, and he's now up to five long balls in May to go along with 11 RBI and 12 runs scored. McMahon has also hit safely in 10 straight games.

He's now upped his hitting streak to nine games and is slashing .378/.310/.676 with three homers, seven RBI and nine runs scored. McMahon extended his hitting streak to eight games, and he's now gone 13-for-33 (.394) with two homers and five RBI in that span. His first-inning blast off Jordan Hicks was just one of three hits the Rockies mustered in the contest. • Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Goes yard in Tuesday's win

McMahon went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Padres.

McMahon got the scoring going for the Rockies with a solo blast to right center off Dylan Cease in the fourth. It was his second home run this month and his first since May 3. He's now rocking a four-game hit streak with multiple hits in two of those while only striking out once over that span. McMahon has been one of the most consistent hitters in their lineup so far this year, slashing .308/.389/.481 with six homers, 22 RBI, 18 runs and a 22:50 BB:K in 180 plate appearances.

  • Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Breaks out with four hits

McMahon went 4-for-5 with one RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 8-3 win over the Rangers.

McMahon entered Saturday just 2-for-21 (.095) over his last six contests. The only downside to his performance in this contest was that all four hits were singles. The third baseman is up to a .303/.391/.462 slash line with five home runs, 21 RBI, 16 runs scored and no stolen bases over 39 contests this season. He's never hit higher than .254 or slugged better than .450 in a full season, so the first quarter of the 2024 campaign has essentially been McMahon at his absolute best, which consequently raises a red flag for regression later in the year.

  • Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Launches fifth homer

McMahon went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Friday's 3-2 win over the Pirates.

The 29-year-old led off the sixth inning by hammering a Martin Perez changeup out of PNC Park completely and into the Allegheny River, becoming only the second Colorado player in history to accomplish the feat after Todd Helton back in 2001. Three of McMahon's five homers this year have come in the last eight games, and the power surge has boosted his slash line on the season to .319/.407/.513 with 13 runs and 19 RBI in 32 contests.
