Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Resting against lefty
Lux is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins. The lefty-hitting Lux will take a seat in the series finale while the Marlins bring southpaw Ryan Weathers to the hill. Miguel Rojas will replace Lux at second base.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Connects on first homer of year
Lux went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer in Tuesday's 8-2 win over the Marlins. Lux sent one out off of George Soriano in the third for his first home run since Aug. 15, 2022. Lux has been seeing the ball better as of late despite owning just a .191 batting average. He has eight hits, five RBI and five runs over his last eight games. For the year, he's slashing .191/.258/.247 with seven RBI, 14 runs and an 8:22 BB:K in 97 plate appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Getting day off against lefty
Lux is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta. Lux is one of three lefty-hitting regulars along with Max Muncy and James Outman who will hit the bench while southpaw Max Fried takes the hill for Atlanta. Miguel Rojas will fill in for Lux at second base.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Gavin Lux: On bench versus lefty
Lux isn't in the Dodgers' lineup Tuesday versus the Diamondbacks. Lux will sit in consecutive games for the first time this season with the Diamondbacks starting their second straight southpaw in Jordan Montgomery on Tuesday. Miguel Rojas will start at second base and bat eighth.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Sits against lefty
Lux is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Nationals. With the Dodgers and Nationals concluding their series with a day game after a night game and with southpaw MacKenzie Gore on the bump for Washington, Lux is one of three lefty-hitting regulars who will get the afternoon off for Los Angeles. Lux will be joined on the bench by Max Muncy and James Outman.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Resting against lefty
Lux isn't in the Dodgers' lineup for Friday's game against the Mets. The Dodgers will face left-hander Sean Manaea on Friday, meaning the left-handed bat of Lux will begin the game in the dugout. Enrique Hernandez will fill in at second base and bat sixth.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Sitting against lefty
Lux isn't in the Dodgers' lineup Tuesday against the Nationals, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports. With left-hander Patrick Corbin set to toe the slab for the Nats, the lefty-hitting Lux will stay put in the dugout to begin Tuesday's contest. Enrique Hernandez will instead pick up a start at the keystone and bat fifth.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Idle against right-handed pitcher
Lux is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. The lefty-hitting Lux will exit the starting nine for the fifth time this season, though Wednesday marks the first occasion that he's on the bench against a right-handed starting pitcher (Chris Paddack). Mookie Betts will shift over from shortstop to fill in at second base for Lux, who is slashing .179/.238/.205 through 42 plate appearances on the season after missing the entire 2023 season while recovering from a torn ACL and LCL in his right knee.... Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Idle versus lefty
Lux isn't in the Dodgers' lineup Saturday against the Cubs, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports. Left-handed starter Jordan Wicks will take the mound for the Cubs on Saturday, so the lefty-hitting Lux will step out of the lineup. Mookie Betts will cover second base instead while Miguel Rojas starts at shortstop.... See More ... See Less -

Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Not starting against lefty
Lux is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals. Lux will once again sit down against a left-handed starter as Steven Matz takes the mound for St. Louis. Mookie Betts will shift to the keystone while Miguel Rojas receives a start at shortstop.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Sits down against lefty
Lux isn't in the Dodgers' lineup Friday against the Cardinals. With left-hander Zack Thompson slated to start on the bump for St. Louis, the left-handed bat of Lux will begin Friday's game in the dugout. Mookie Betts will slide over to second base, allowing Miguel Rojas to start at shortstop and bat ninth.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Back in lineup Wednesday
Lux (illness) will start at second base and bat eighth in Wednesday's Cactus League game against the Mariners, Kirsten Watson of Spectrum SportsNet LA reports. Lux was away from camp Tuesday while he battled an illness, but he presumably made a full recovery from the ailment overnight. He'll return to the lineup at the keystone, the position he's expected to occupy this season after defensive concerns prompted the Dodgers to move him off of shortstop earlier in spring training.... Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Out due to illness
Lux is away from the Dodgers' camp Tuesday due to illness, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports. A bug seems to be making its way around the clubhouse, as Max Muncy and assistant pitching coach Connor McGuiness have also been affected. Consider Lux day-to-day.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Shifting to second base
Manager Dave Roberts said Lux will primarily play second base with Mookie Betts handling shortstop, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports. That's the alignment for Friday's spring game against the Reds, and Roberts described the positioning as "permanent, for now." Lux experienced some troubles throwing the ball from shortstop during spring action, and the Dodgers decided they had seen enough. The 26-year-old should still see plenty of playing time at the keystone, though he may sit against some left-handed pitchers.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Starting role in question
Manager Dave Roberts wouldn't commit to naming Lux the Dodgers' Opening Day shortstop Thursday, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports. The Dodgers entered camp fully expecting Lux to start at shortstop on Opening Day. However, recent throwing issues have raised concerns about whether or not Lux is the best option to have in the field. It's possible Lux is simply rusty from missing the entire 2023 campaign due to a torn ACL, and Roberts stated the team is still confident in Lux's defensive abilities, but if Lux continues to struggle, his starting job may be given to Miguel Rojas instead.... Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Ditches knee brace
Lux has been cleared to ditch the heavy knee brace he had been wearing on his surgically repaired right knee, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports. He is still wearing a compression sleeve, however. Lux missed the entire 2023 season following surgery to repair the ACL and LCL in his knee, but he's full-go this spring and is slated to open the season as the Dodgers' starting shortstop.... Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Ready for spring
Lux (knee) is a "full go" for spring training, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports. Lux missed all of last season after tearing the ACL and spraining the MCL in his right knee during a spring training game last year. Despite his extended absence, Lux is on track to begin the new campaign as the Dodgers' primary shortstop, per Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic. The 26-year-old infielder slashed .276/.346/.399 with 42 RBI across 471 plate appearances in 2022.... See More ... See Less
