Fraley is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Cubs. Fraley will dodge a matchup with lefty Justin Steele on Friday. Jonathan India will DH and Santiago Espinal will play second base.... See More ... See Less

Reds' Jake Fraley: On bench vs. lefty
Fraley is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Rockies. With the Rockies sending southpaw Ty Blach to the mound Tuesday, the lefty-hitting Fraley will take a seat Tuesday. With him out of the lineup, Tyler Stephenson will serve as the DH and Luke Maile will start at catcher.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Jake Fraley: Runs streak to seven games
Fraley went 3-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Cubs. Fraley's double triggered a four-run second inning, putting the Reds on a path to win. He's hit in seven straight games, going 10-for-26 (.385) with two steals, two doubles, one RBI and three runs scored during the streak. While many of his teammates have slumped early in the season -- the Reds' .220 average ranks 29th in MLB -- Fraley leads the club at .295.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Jake Fraley: Idle versus southpaw
Fraley isn't in the Reds' lineup for Saturday's game against the Cubs. With lefty starter Justin Steele set to toe the slab for Chicago, the lefty-hitting Fraley will step out of the lineup Saturday. His absence will move Tyler Stephenson into the DH role while Luke Maile starts behind the plate, batting ninth.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Jake Fraley: Logs ninth steal
Fraley went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Wednesday's 5-3 loss to the Cardinals. Fraley swiped his ninth base of the season while extending a hit streak to five games (6-for-19). He's on pace for a second consecutive 20-steal season but has just seven extra-base hits in 134 plate appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Jake Fraley: Returns with two hits, stolen base
Fraley went 2-for-4 with two singles and a stolen base in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Dodgers. He was picked off and caught stealing on another attempt. After missing three starts due to a hand injury, Fraley was back in the cleanup spot against right-hander Walker Buehler. Fraley stole a base right away after his single in the first inning, his eighth steal of the campaign, which puts him on pace to surpass 20 stolen bases for a second consecutive season. The power has been severely lacking, however, as he still sits with just one home run and his SLG is down nearly 80 points from a year ago.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Jake Fraley: Back in lineup
Fraley (hand) is starting in right field Saturday versus the Dodgers. Fraley has been out of the Reds' lineup for the past three games after suffering a bruised hand during Tuesday's contest, though he was used as a pinch runner Thursday. He appears to have fully recovered ahead of Saturday's game and will now look to get hot at the plate after beginning the year with a .692 OPS -- his worst mark since joining the Reds in 2022.... Reds' Jake Fraley: Still on bench
Fraley (hand) is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Dodgers. Fraley hasn't started a game since getting hit in the hand by a pitch Tuesday against San Diego. However, he's been utilized as a pinch runner since sustaining the injury but Fraley is ready to go, per Mark Sheldon of MLB.com, and could enter the game off the bench. Jacob Hurtubise will start in right field and bat ninth Friday.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Jake Fraley: Used as pinch runner
Fraley (hand) entered Thursday's 6-4 extra-inning loss to the Padres as a pinch runner in the 10th inning. The outfielder ran for Jeimer Candelario, who had walked, and was presumably only going to be allowed to run the bases had the game continued. The Reds didn't wind up scoring in the extra frame, but the usage suggests Fraley could return to the lineup at some point during a weekend series against the Dodgers.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Jake Fraley: Plans to test out hand with swings
Fraley plans to test out his injured right hand with some swings Thursday, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports. X-rays on Fraley's hand came back clean after he exited Tuesday's contest versus the Padres following a hit by pitch. However, he still has some swelling and will be absent from the lineup Thursday for a second straight day. The outfielder should be considered day-to-day.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Jake Fraley: Out of lineup with hand injury
Fraley (hand) is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Padres. Fraley will miss out on a second consecutive start while he manages a bruised and swollen right hand. The Reds seem to be viewing Fraley as day-to-day, so he could be available off the bench in the series finale.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Jake Fraley: X-rays negative
X-rays on Fraley's right hand came back negative Tuesday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. Fraley is reportedly dealing with swelling after taking a pitch off his hand during the first inning of Tuesday's contest, but he seems to have avoided a serious injury. The Reds will re-evaluate his hand Wednesday, but it's likely the 28-year-old outfielder sits out a game or two in order to recover.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Jake Fraley: Leaves Tuesday with hand injury
Fraley left Tuesday night's game against the Padres after getting hit by a pitch on the hand in the first inning. Fraley ran the bases after the HBP but then retreated to the clubhouse at the end of the inning. Stuart Fairchild replaced Fraley in the game.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Jake Fraley: Three hits, steal in loss
Fraley went 3-for-4 with a stolen base in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Giants. Fraley was the only Cincinnati hitter with multiple hits in the contest. He had gone 14 games without a multi-hit effort, batting a paltry .132 (5-for-38) in that span. That stretch put a significant damper on the outfielder's solid start to the year, but he's still slashing .304/.368/.392 with six steals, one home run, five RBI and 16 runs scored over 87 plate appearances. Fraley sat out a couple of games versus right-handed pitchers early in May, but it appears that was temporary as he has resumed a strong-side platoon role between right field and designated hitter.... Reds' Jake Fraley: Idle against lefty
Fraley is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks. Fraley and fellow lefty hitter Will Benson will head to the bench Wednesday while southpaw Jordan Montgomery toes the slab for Arizona. Luke Maile and Stuart Fairchild will join the lineup as the starters at designated hitter and in right field, respectively, while Fraley and Benson sit.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Jake Fraley: Sits against right-hander again
Fraley is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres. For the second straight day, Fraley finds himself on the bench with a right-handed pitcher (Joe Musgrove) on the hill. The Reds haven't indicated that Fraley is nursing an injury, but the outfielder has thus far struggled to bounce back since returning to the lineup after a week-long absence due to an illness. In his first three games back in action, Fraley went 0-for-11 with five strikeouts. If Fraley is unable to show improvement in his subsequent starting opportunities, he could fade into more of a part-time role for Cincinnati.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Jake Fraley: Walks, scores in return
Fraley went 1-for-3 with a walk and run scored in Saturday's 8-4 win over Texas. Fraley, who returned from a week-long absence due to an illness, walked in his first plate appearance and came around to score. He was eventually removed late in the game as part of a defensive realignment.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Jake Fraley: Returns to lineup
Fraley (illness) is starting in right field Saturday against the Rangers. Fraley has missed the Reds' last six games due to an illness, though he was available off the bench Friday. The 28-year-old outfielder has been a key part of Cincinnati's offense this season, slashing .362/.423/.511 across 52 plate appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Jake Fraley: Returns to team
Fraley (illness) was available off the bench Friday but did not enter a 2-1 loss to Texas, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports. Fraley returned to the team but was not in the starting lineup against a right-hander, against whom the lefty-hitter typically starts. "He's back," manager David Bell said. "I wanted him to go through a full day of work today and not start him." Bell added that Fraley will be available to start Saturday, when the Reds face right-hander Michael Lorenzen.... See More ... Reds' Jake Fraley: Still out Thursday
Fraley (illness) is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Phillies. Though Jonathan India will rejoin the lineup as the Reds' designated hitter following a four-game absence due to an illness, Fraley will stick on the bench for a sixth consecutive contest while he's had a slower recovery from an ailment of his own. According to Mark Sheldon of MLB.com, manager David Bell relayed Wednesday that Fraley has been showing improvement, so the Reds are seemingly hopeful that the 28-year-old outfielder will return to action at some point during the weekend series versus the Rangers....
