Ohtani went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and an additional RBI in Wednesday's 10-3 win over the Mets.
Ohtani knocked a run-scoring single in the fifth inning and capped his performance with a two-run blast in the eighth. The long ball was his first since May 17 and pushed him to 14 on the campaign, eighth-most in the majors. Ohtani has added 38 RBI, 41 runs, 13 stolen bases and a .330/.395/.615 slash line through 248 plate appearances.
Ohtani isn't in the Dodgers' lineup for the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Mets, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.
The Dodgers were planning on giving Ohtani the evening off heading into Tuesday's twin bill, so he'll sit in the dugout after an 0-for-5 performance during Game 1. Will Smith will instead serve as Los Angeles' designated hitter, allowing Austin Barnes to start behind the plate.
Ohtani will serve as the Dodgers' designated hitter and No. 2 batter in Sunday's game against the Reds.
Though manager Dave Roberts disclosed after Saturday's 3-1 loss that Ohtani has been managing a bruised hamstring of late, the 29-year-old still served as the Dodgers' DH for all nine innings of the contest, going 1-for-4 with a triple and three strikeouts. According to Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register, Ohtani wasn't running at full speed when he legged out the triple, and while the hamstring issue doesn't look as though it'll cost him any starts, it could result in his stolen-base opportunities being more limited in the short term. Ohtani has gone a perfect 13-for-13 in stolen-base attempts through his first 52 games of the season.

Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani: Playing with bruised hamstring

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Saturday that Ohtani has been playing with a bruised right hamstring in recent days, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Ohtani was hit in the leg by a pickoff throw during the team's last homestand and has been instructed to not exert full effort on the bases for the time being. The issue hasn't caused him to miss any games, and at this point, Ohtani doesn't look as though he'll be subject to any days off.
Ohtani went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI, two runs and two steals in Tuesday's loss to the Diamondbacks.
Ohtani was one of two Dodger hitters with multiple hits in the game and swiped multiple bases for the third time this year to bring his total up to 13. Ohtani now has nine multi-hit efforts this month and continues to terrorize opposing pitching. He leads the league with a 1.080 OPS and is now slashing .356/.425/.655 with 13 homers, 34 RBI, 39 runs and a 24:42 BB:K in 221 plate appearances.
