DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) Akevious Williams threw for four touchdowns and ran for another and Bethune-Cookman rolled to program-record point total in a 79-16 victory over Virginia University of Lynchburg on Saturday.

The Wildcats (1-1) led by the final margin entering the fourth quarter, which was shortened to eight minutes. The margin of victory is the largest since a 74-0 win over Claflin in 1962.

Williams' finished with 297 yards passing. David Israel threw for two more touchdowns and the Wildcats finished with 477 yards passing and 606 yards offense. The special teams added Queshaun Byrd's 88-yard kickoff return for a score and the defense contributed Tydarius Peters' 38-yard pick-6 along with a safety. Byrd also had a rushing touchdown and a 70-yard touchdown catch.

Malique Jackson grabbed four passes for 162 yards and touchdowns of 77 and 58 yards.

The Wildcats led 30-0 after first quarter, the first time they scored four touchdowns in a quarter since 2015.

The Dragons (1-1) are members of the National Christian College Athletic Association.
