Bowl eligibility likely to remain at six wins
If you were hoping to seen an end put to 6-6 teams playing in bowl games, well, you might want to find a new crusade for a bit.

That's 35 athletic directors who get an early jump on selling season tickets and 35 coaches who are talking to recruits about winning a bowl game."
Over the last two seasons 27 teams have played in a bowl game with a 6-6 record, leading to such classics as last season's Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl in which the 6-6 Illinois Fighting Illini, under an interim head coach, beat the 6-7 UCLA Bruins, also under an interim head coach, in a scintillating 20-14 game.
A game that will live on in the memories of college football fans everywhere.
Personally, I am not a fan at all of 6-6 teams playing in bowl games. I'm just firmly opposed to rewarding people for mediocrity, and things just don't get much more mediocre than 6-6.
Sadly it's somewhat of a necessary evil in college football, as more and more bowl games are created and they all need teams to fill them. It's also partially my fault, because even though I don't like it when a 6-6 team is in a bowl game, I'm watching those games.
When I know the college football season will be ending soon and I'll have to slog through eight months without it, I try to get as much of it as I possibly can.
It's a sickness, I know.
