Angels reliever Brandon Sisk, who had already been optioned to Triple-A, will undergo Tommy John surgery and miss the entire 2013 season, reports the Orange County Register. The 27-year-old Sisk should be ready by opening day next season but will miss all of 2013. He has never pitched in the majors but is on the 40-man roster for the Angels.
The Royals traded minor league reliever Brandon Sisk to the Angels on Wednesday, as they acquired starting pitcher Ervin Santana and cash in return. Sisk spent the 2012 season at Triple-A Omaha, where he compiled a 3-2 record with a 2.54 ERA and eight saves.
