Braves' Emilio Bonifacio: One-year deal with Braves

Bonifacio agreed to a one-year contract with the Braves on Wednesday, David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. He limped to a career-worst .167/.198/.192 batting line in 47 games with the White Sox last season, leading to his eventual release. While Bonifacio would see better results in a short stint with the Cubs' Triple-A affiliate after signing in late August, he never received the call up in September. At 30, his speed is diminishing, but Bonifacio will fill a utility need at a low cost for Atlanta in 2016.
