      Pirates' Gorkys Hernandez: Will elect to become free agent

      Hernandez will elect to become a free agent, Rob Biertempfel of the Pittsburgh Tribune reports. Hernandez managed to record five plate appearances with the Pirates before finding his way back to Triple-A Indianapolis in the beginning of August. In 340 appearances with the Pirates Triple-A affiliate this season, Hernandez posted a .288/.365/.406 slash line to go along with six home runs and 17 stolen bases.
