      Tigers pitcher Jose Ortega (0-1) was hit with the loss in his season debut Saturday afternoon against the Twins.Ortega filled in for Anibal Sanchez, who left the game in the third with a blister on his right middle finger.       Jose Ortega not available Tuesday

      Tigers manager Jim Leyland told reporters that reliever Jose Ortega will not be available out of the bullpen Tuesday night against the Astros.Ortega, who pitched two innings Monday against Houston and one-third of an inning Sunday against Cleveland, has not allowed a run since he was recalled from Triple-A. He has allowed two hits in 6 2/3 innings and has a 0.47 WHIP through his first five appearances.

      Tigers recall Jose Ortega

      The Tigers have recalled reliever Jose Ortega from Triple-A Toledo Wednesday. With Phil Coke on the disabled list with a groin injury, Ortega has been called up to take his place. Ortega, 24, pitched 2 2/3 innings with the major-league club last season. In Triple-A, he's thrown 14 innings without giving up a run this year. He's struck out 19 batters.
