      Lucas Luetge: Signs minor-league deal with Angels

      Luetge signed a minor league deal with the Angels on Wednesday, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports. The left-hander made just one appearance with the Mariners in 2015, but he did record 70-plus innings with the club through 2012-2013. It's unclear if the contract included an invitation to spring training.

      The Mariners have reinstated pitcher Joe Beimel from the restricted list and optioned pitcher Lucas Luetge back to Triple-A Tacoma, the team announced. Beimel went on the restricted list on Friday for personal reasons and has a 2.79 ERA with seven strikeouts in 9 2/3 innings of work this season. Luetge has a 5.06 ERA in 21 1/3 innings of work in Triple-A this season.

      The Mariners have called up left-hander Lucas Luetge from Triple-A Tacoma. This will be Luetge's second stint with the Mariners this season. He pitched 2 1/3 innings of relief in a loss on April 25. He has struggled in Triple-A to the tune of a 5.06 ERA in 21 1/3 innings. Luetge will take the place of reliever Joe Beimel, who will be away from the team for personal reasons, according to iThe Tacoma News Tribune.

      The Mariners called up pitcher Roenis Elias from Triple-A Tacoma Sunday, optioning pitcher Lucas Luetge to Tacoma in a corresponding move. Elias is set to start Sunday's game against the Twins in place of Hisashi Iwakuma, who is on the disabled list with a lat injury.       The Mariners announced Friday they cut 11 players from major-league camp. Pitcher Lucas Luetge, catcher John Hicks, indielder Ketel Marte, infielder Jesus Montero, outfielder James Jones and outfielder Stefen Romero were optioned to Triple-A Tacoma.
