Chris Resop signs with Red Sox
The Red Sox have signed pitcher Chris Resop to a minor-league deal, Baseball America reports. Resop made 18 appearances with Oakland in 2013, going 1-1 with a 6.00 ERA, 1.78 WHIP and 13:10 K:BB ratio in 18 innings. He also made 26 appearances with Triple-A Sacramento, going 1-2 with a 6.81 ERA, 1.71 WHIP and 29:13 K:BB ratio in 35 2/3 innings.

Hideki Okajima, Chris Resop elect free agency
Athletics pitchers Hideki Okajima and Chris Resop have each elected free agency, according to Baseball America.Both pitchers were outrighted off the team's 40-man roster. Okajima posted a 2.25 ERA in just four innings pitched in the majors. Resop went 1-1 with a 6.00 ERA and a 1.78 WHIP over 18 innings pitched this season.
