The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports free agent goalie Tobias Stephan signed a contract with Geneva Servette of the Swiss Hockey League. He played the 2008-09 season with the Stars.
Petr Prucha scored 53 seconds into overtime past Tobias Stephan to lift the Phoenix Coyotes to a 6-5 victory over the Dallas Stars on Monday night. Prucha took a pass from Shane Doan at the top right corner of the crease and shoved the puck past Stephan for a power-play goal just 16 seconds after Andrew Hutchinson was whistled for tripping. Stephan held a 1-0 lead in the first before Phoenix reeled off two straight goals. Dallas tied the game at 2 and then Stephan allowed the Coyotes to jump out to a two-goal lead. Phoenix held a 5-3 lead until Dallas tied the game with 58 seconds left. Stephan made 27 saves in the loss.
The St. Louis Blues scored on three of their first eight shots against Marty Turco in a 5-2 victory over the Dallas Stars on Tuesday. St. Louis took a 1-0 lead just 59 seconds into the game. David Backes skated in alone just inside the blue line and beat Turco for his 22nd goal. David Perron made it 2-0 at 6:32 on the Blues' third shot of the game, sliding the puck under Turco's left side for a two-goal lead. The Blues chased Turco after Brad Winchester made it 3-0 with a power-play goal at 11:56, his 11th tally this season. Turco (30-25-8) allowed three goals on eight shots before being replaced by Tobias Stephan, who stopped 17 of 19 shots the rest of the way.
Dallas G Tobias Stephan played for the first time since Jan. 8 on Sunday against the Penguins, allowing four goals and making 19 saves in a 4-1 loss to the Penguins. Marty Turco had made 32 consecutive starts before getting a break on Sunday.
The Dallas Morning News reports the Stars recalled Tobias Stephan from Bridgeport of the AHL and sent Brent Krahn back to Chicago of the AHL Tuesday.
