Oshie scored his 30th goal of the season in the second period of Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Flames. This is Oshie's first 30-goal campaign, and he can thank the hockey gods for it -- incredibly, he's taken just 122 shots, 24.6 percent of which have found twine. That said, it's hard to take too much away from a guy who's done that much scoring in just 59 contests. He's also now hit 50 points for the fourth consecutive season.
Oshie scored a hat trick and added an assist in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Lightning. Sure, his third goal went into an empty net, but a hat trick is a hat trick. All of a sudden, Oshie has 29 goals and 49 points on the season. And he's plus-26. His 29 goals are a new career mark. Oshie is a solid complementary scorer for your fantasy squad.
Oshie buried a goal in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Kings. The 30-year-old winger now has 26 goals in consecutive seasons with the Capitals as he is scoring on 23 percent of his shots this year. Heading into free agency, Oshie could be difficult for the Caps to re-sign long term, but there's no denying how productive he's been for Washington -- and his fantasy owners.
Oshie (upper body) wasn't on the ice for conditioning Saturday morning. With regards to the evening's game against the Flyers, the crafty winger said, "I should be good to go," Isabelle Khurshudyan of The Washington Post reports. Barring a last-minute setback, it looks as though you can deploy Oshie as normal in all fantasy formats. He'll reprise his role sniping on the first line and top power-play unit, and his sudden return from a four-game absence could result in your competition sleeping on him in daily contests. Oshie's picked up 43 points (24 goals, 19 assists) in 50 games to complement a plus-26 rating. One more power-play marker and he'll reach double-digits for said category.
Oshie (upper body) was on the top power-play unit during Friday's practice and could return Saturday against the Flyers, Isabelle Khurshudyan of The Washington Post reports. Oshie has missed the last four games with the ailment as the Capitals have been cautious with his return. His practicing with the top power-play unit is a strong indication he will return Saturday, but check back prior to puck drop for confirmation. The 30-year-old winger had six goals and 11 points along with a plus-7 rating in 10 games prior to his injury, so make sure he's back in your lineup once he returns.
