Percy signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Penguins on Friday, Bob McKenzie of The Hockey Insider reports. The contract is worth $575,000 in the NHL and $200,000 in the minors. Percy has made just 12 appearances in the NHL over the past two seasons and it doesn't seem likely that he'll be able to improve on that number much, despite the change of scenery from Toronto.
Percy has been reassigned to AHL Toronto. Percy's departure opens up a spot on the active roster for the team's recall of Connor Carrick, but neither of the two figure to make much of an impact in the fantasy realm. Percy saw game action three times over the past week, but recorded just one shots on goal, four hits and three blocks over that frame. Now back in the minors, he'll go back to an organizational depth role for the time being.
Percy was recalled from AHL Toronto on Monday, James Mirtle of the Globe and Mail reports. Percy will slide into the roster spot vacated by Roman Polak's trade to San Jose. The young defenseman has yet to crack Toronto's lineup this season, but should be expected to suit up against the Predators on Tuesday. Garnering 15 helpers in 43 games in the AHL, the 22-year-old seems to have a knack for finding his teammates near the crease, but remains a relatively unknown quantity in terms of fantasy value.
The Maple Leafs have assigned Stuart Percy to the AHL's Toronto Marlies, the team's official site reports.
