  • Canadiens' Zach Fucale: Returns to AHL
    By RotoWire Staff

Fucale was sent to AHL St. John's on Wednesday. Fucale was originally promoted in the wake of a lower-body injury to backup Al Montoya, but the Habs have decided to go with Charlie Lindgren in that spot instead. However, the AHL is still considered a step up from ECHL Brampton, where Fucale had been playing before his initial recall to the Habs.

  • Canadiens' Zach Fucale: Emergency recall Tuesday
    By RotoWire Staff

Fucale was recalled from the Brampton Beast of the ECHL on an emergency basis, Eric Engels of Sportsnet reports. After scheduled starter Al Montoya went down with a lower-body injury, Fucale was called into action to serve as Carey Price's backup for Tuesday's matchup with Dallas. If Montoya is forced to miss an extended period of time, Fucale may see some action in the Montreal goal, but it's more likely in that scenario that the Habs would opt for a more experienced goalie than the 21-year-old.

  • Fucale's future with Montreal has been cast in doubt after the organization signed Charlie Lindgren out of St. Cloud State University, the Montreal Gazette reports. Fucale, a second-round draft pick in 2013, had been considered the goalie of the future, but has looked mediocre since. The 20-year-old native of nearby Laval has an .893 save percentage the last two seasons. For the St. John's IceCaps of the American Hockey League in 2015-16, Fucale was 15-17-4 with a .901 percentage.

  • Canadiens' Zach Fucale: Recalled Monday
    By RotoWire Staff

Fucale was recalled by the Canadiens on Monday. This is the first time Fucale has been called up to the NHL. He will essentially be swapping places with Dustin Tokarski who is being sent back down to Montreal's AHL affiliate St. John's. Fucale compiled a 7-2-1 record with a 3.12 GAA and .907 save percentage in 12 outings this season with St John's. He will be backing up Mike Condon who will likely be starting in Carey Price's place while Price recovers from a leg injury.
