    • Junland sent back to AHL

News: The Blues have sent D Jonas Junland back to the AHL.
Analysis: Junland played just one game in this trip to St. Louis, finishing with a minus-2. He has minimal Fantasy value while in the AHL.
    • Blues summon Junland from AHL

News: The Blues have called up D Jonas Junland from the AHL.
Analysis: Junland is having a superb AHL season with 18 points in 22 games. He is in his second North American campaign and, at 22, could have a bright future in the NHL. Don't pick him up in seasonal formats just yet, but keep a close eye on him if you're in a deeper league and need D help.
    • Junland back up with Blues

News: The Blues have recalled D Jonas Junland from the Peoria Rivermen (AHL).
Analysis: Junland has 13 points and 12 PIM in 21 AHL games this season, but his Fantasy value is pretty minimal at this time.
    • Junland could be back soon

News: The Sports Xchange reports D Jonas Junland (shoulder) was assigned to Peoria Saturday to play a few games in the AHL. Junland will likely return to the Blues next week and make his NHL debut.
Analysis: Junland is in his first season with the Blues after spending the last few years in Sweden. He has never been a big-time offensive player, but with all the holes St. Louis has on the blue line that could change. However, he remains more of a wait-and-see project.
    • Junland down to Peoria

News: St. Louis D Jonas Junland (shoulder) has been assigned to Peoria of the AHL on Saturday.
Analysis: Junland is just a low-end defenseman with the Blues and has no Fantasy value, even when healthy.
    • Junland practices Tuesday

News: The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Blues D Jonas Junland practiced Tuesday and could return to action this weekend.
Analysis: Junland is just a low-end defenseman with the Blues and has no Fantasy value, even when healthy.
    • Four Blues defensemen vie for job

News: The Sports Xchange reports the Blues have four defensive jobs solidified with Barret Jackman, Eric Brewer, Jay McKee and Erik Johnson. Jackman says the battle for the fifth, sixth and seventh spots will be interesting. The candidates are Steve Wagner, Jeff Woywitka, Roman Polak and Jonus Junland.
Analysis: Wagner, Woywitka, Polak and Junland could spend all season shuffling between the NHL and AHL. The fact they will likely be nothing more than lower-pair defenseman also doesn't help their case. It's safe to ignore these players in Fantasy until further notice.
    • Junland could land on blue line

News: The Sports Xchange reports D Jonus Junland was impressive at the Blues' development camp and could contend for a spot on the blue line. Junland spent the last two seasons playing in Sweden.
Analysis: Junland, the Blues' third-round pick from 2006, totaled 20 points (three goals) in 52 games with Linkoping HC last season. He had a strong playoff push with seven points (four goals) in 16 games. Still, Junland will be nothing more than a low-end Fantasy flier heading into 2008-09, if he makes the squad.
