News: Gustav Nyquist signed a four-year, $19 million contract with the Red Wings on Friday.
Analysis: Gustav Nyquist was great with the Red Wings last season, tallying 27 goals and 27 assists for a total of 54 points in 82 games. He will return to his role as a top six forward with Detroit in 2015-16, and has a chance to post career highs in goals and assists. Fantasy owners can expect similar offensive production from Nyquist for the foreseeable future.
  • Wings' Nyquist Ends Goal Drought

News: Gustav Nyquist picked up his first goal of the postseason in Thursday's Game 4 loss to the Lightning.
Analysis: Gustav Nyquist kicked off the night's scoring when he took a slick feed from Henrik Zetterberg near the net and gently deposited the puck past Bolts goalie Ben Bishop. It was the Swedish winger's first marker since April 7, ending a five-game drought. Nyquist's three shot attempts on the evening also tied his highest total in that category since that same April 7 game.

News: Gustav Nyquist scored a power-play goal in Saturday's shootout win over Minnesota.
Analysis: He now has four goals and one assist in his last seven games and 26 on the season. He had suffered through a cold patch, at least offensively, but he seems to be back on the right track. Use him well.
  • Wings' Nyquist: First Multi-Point Game Since Feb21

News: Gustav Nyquist scored a goal and added an assist in Detroit's 4-0 win over Tampa Bay on Saturday. It's his first multi-point game since Feb. 21.
Analysis: Gustav Nyquist has had a fine season, but has clearly hit the wall -- this was his 74th game of the season and his previous season high in games was 57. He does have three points in his last three games, so fingers crossed he's starting to warm up again.
  • Wings' Nyquist Finds Twine Against Coyotes

News: Gustav Nyquist recorded a power-play goal in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Coyotes.
Analysis: Gustav Nyquist tied the score on the third-period tally, but the Red Wings weren't able to keep the Coyotes off the board in the extra time. After a dazzling month of January, Nyquist's production seems to have tapered off since then. He's collected only three goals and eight assists over his last 22 games.
  • Wings' Nyquist Captures Assist In Win

News: Gustav Nyquist registered an assist in Monday's 5-2 win over the Oilers.
Analysis: Gustav Nyquist's production has been muted of late with a goal and two assists over his last seven games, but he's still turning in a highly productive campaign, netting 46 points in 65 games. That's behind his scoring rate from a season ago, but it's worth bearing in mind that he was seeing a more sizable role in the Wings' top six while Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg missed time with injuries. The 25-year-old still looks like a very promising long-term asset for Detroit.
  • Wings' Nyquist Scores 21st Goal In Win

News: Gustav Nyquist potted his 21st goal of the season and had an assist in Saturday's wild 7-6 overtime win over the Stars.
Analysis: The goal snapped a six-game goalless drought for Gustav Nyquist, who has been playing on the team's third line. He's still on the top power-play unit, though, and has recorded 42 points in 57 games on the season. His goal-scoring has cooled down, but that doesn't mean he can't keep producing points. The 25-year-old is a great fantasy play on a Detroit team that has suffered just three regulation losses in their past 15 games.

  • Third Straight Two-Point Game For Wings' Nyquist

News: Gustav Nyquist turned in his third consecutive two-point game Tuesday, scoring a power-play goal and adding an assist in a shootout win over Minnesota.
Analysis: The 25-year-old winger also scored the deciding goal of the shootout, just for kicks. The ol' plus-minus is headed toward the land of the positive, and Gustav Nyquist has a remarkable 17 points in his last 13 gamse. He isn't likely to keep up that kind of scoring pace, but if he stays hot in the second half, a run at 70 points isn't out of the question.
  • Wings' Nyquist Has Another Multi-Point Effort

News: Gustav Nyquist scored his 18th goal of the season and had an assist in Sunday's win over the Sabres.
Analysis: That's back-to-back multi-point efforts from Gustav Nyquist, who has racked up 11 points (three goals) in his last nine games. The 25-year-old now has 18 goals and 34 points in 46 games on the season, to go with a minus-4 rating. With five multi-point outings in his last 12 games and a whopping 10 power-play goals on the season, Nyquist is a prime reason the surging Red Wings have just one loss in their last seven games. Keep him rolling, as the goose is just so loose right now.
