Zibanejad notched a shorthanded assist, three shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Monday's 4-0 win over the Senators. Zibanejad helped out on an Adam Fox tally in the second period. The assist extended Zibanejad's point streak to six games (two goals, six helpers) to close out the regular season. He had 72 points in 81 appearances during the regular season, with his .89 points per game being his lowest pace in six years. Zibanejad scored the overtime winner in a 4-3 victory over the Blackhawks on Friday. Zibanejad and the Rangers seemed to be in control of the game heading into the third period, holding a 3-1 lead and outshooting the Blackhawks 29 to 19. Nick Foligno and Jason Dickinson had other ideas, as they both scored in the third frame to force the game into an extra period. Zibanejad had a goal and two assists in a 4-3 overtime win over the Sabres on Saturday. His goal was a nice rebound, but Zibanejad's assist on the OT winner was electric. He carried the puck below the goal line and drew Sabres goalie Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen out of the crease before sending a backhand pass from behind the net to Chris Kreider for a tap-in from the front of the net. "[Zibanejad] pump-faked every single person in the building and used me as a backboard," Kreider said after the game. Zibanejad has compiled seven goals and six assists during his seven-game point streak. He is up to 33 points in 32 games this season, but remains off his 39-goal mark from last year. Washington shouldn’t have been a playoff team and despite winning four straight, the Rangers made hard work of it. Against Carolina, assuming it is Carolina, they will be made to pay. Have to clean this up.
