  • Coyotes' Moss Picks Up Assist In Loss

News: David Moss picked up an assist on the Coyotes' lone goal Saturday in a 2-1 loss to the Ducks. He added one hit in the contest.
Analysis: David Moss finished the season with 12 points in 60 games and a minus-18 rating. Moss came back to the Coyotes on a one-year contract this year and with the Coyotes in re-building mode it seems likely he will move on in the off-season.
  • Coyotes' Moss Scores In Win

News: David Moss scored his fourth goal of the year Thursday in a 4-3 overtime win over the Sabres. He was plus-2 with two shots in the contest.
Analysis: David Moss has scored three times in the past two games for the Coyotes, which considering he has 10 points on the year, counts as a surprise. Don't let this mini hot streak fool you, Moss hasn't been a consistent scorer in many years and doesn't add enough peripheral stats to make up for it in all but super-deep leagues.
  • Coyotes' Moss Snaps Off Two Goals

News: David Moss scored his second and third goals of the year -- the latter on the power play -- in Tuesday's 5-4 stunner over Detroit.
Analysis: Well, that was unexpected. The former 20-goal man (back in 2008-09) still has just nine points in 52 games this year, though, so this is more likely a fluke than the beginning of a late-season offensive surge.
  • Coyotes' Moss Chips In With Assist

News: David Moss recorded an assist in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Penguins.
Analysis: David Moss has a mere seven points and a minus-21 rating over 50 games this season. With the Coyotes focusing on improving their odds to land a top selection in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, Moss' rating should only dip further from here, and he won't score enough to make up for it.
  • Coyotes' Moss Picks Up Assist In Loss

News: David Moss picked up an assist, two PIM and two hits Saturday in a loss to the Red Wings. It was his second consecutive game with a point.
Analysis: David Moss has never been a big point producer, but he's been truly awful this year, with just four points and a minus-19 rating. He almost signed to play in Europe in the offseason, so he may be a candidate to be traded if another team has interest, as the Coyotes are widely expected to move many veterans before the trade deadline.
  • Coyotes' Moss Finally Scores One

News: Playing in his 29th game of the season, David Moss finally scored his first goal of 2014-15 in Thursday's 2-1 shootout loss to Carolina.
Analysis: It's been truly an awful year for David Moss, who missed a chunk of time with an upper-body injury and has been patently useless when on the ice, with just three points and a minus-19 rating to show for the campaign. Don't rush out to pick him up.
  • Coyotes Activate Moss

News: David Moss (upper body) was activated from injured reserve Wednesday.
Analysis: As coach Dave Tippett suggested a day earlier, David Moss is set to return to the lineup Thursday against the Predators after he was able to resume practicing this week without any setbacks. He's been skating on the second line with Martin Erat and Martin Hanzal the last two days, but don't expect any stunning numbers from him. Even in healthier seasons, Moss has never reached the 40-point plateau in his eight NHL seasons.
  • Coyotes' Moss Expected Back Thursday

News: David Moss (upper body) is expected to play Thursday versus the Predators, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports.
Analysis: David Moss participated fully in Tuesday's practice, with coach Dave Tippett stating afterward that he'd be surprised if the winger didn't suit up Thursday. He's expected to enter the lineup on the second line, skating next to Martin Erat and Martin Hanzal.
  • Coyotes Call Moss Day-To-Day

News: David Moss (upper body) won't play Thursday against the Kings, but is being considered day-to-day at this point, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports.
Analysis: David Moss is practicing and appears to be nearly all the way back from an injury that has kept him out for nearly six weeks. With an extra day of conditioning work, he could be ready to play Saturday versus the Bruins.
  • Panthers' Moss (Upper Body) To Travel With Team

News: David Moss (upper body) will travel with the team to Edmonton but is doubtful to play Monday, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports.
Analysis: David Moss' injury is believed to be in his hand, but has caused him to miss over a month at this point. His return should add a little extra offensive prowess to a Coyotes club averaging just 2.29 G/GP.
