Avalanche's Blake Comeau: Tallies two points in win

Comeau recorded a goal and an assist in Monday's win over the Jets. The goal came on an empty net to seal the win, but it's just Comeau's second of the year so he'll take them any way he can get them. After somewhat of a slow start, the winger now has five points in his past six contests.

      Avalanche's Blake Comeau: Playing Tuesday

As expected, Comeau is playing in Tuesday's matchup with the Flyers. He logged 6:45 of ice time and a single shot on goal in the first period of the contest.

Avalanche's Blake Comeau: Away from team

Comeau missed practice Monday due to a personal matter, Terry Frei of the Denver Post reports. Comeau left the team after a death in the family, but he's expected to rejoin them in Philadelphia in time for Tuesday's contest against the Flyers. If he does miss that game, his next chance to slot back into the lineup will come Thursday in Boston.

Avalanche's Blake Comeau: Only one point in 2015-16

Comeau has only one point through the first five regular season games. Comeau's lone point came on Oct. 16 when he assisted John Mitchell's 30-foot, empty-net wrist shot. The first-line left wing's empty net assist and seven missed shots show his unspectacular start to the 2015-16 campaign. His time has depleted from 17 minutes to only 15 since the start of the season as the 29-year-old is now seeing less time on the ice than second and third-line wings Gabriel Landeskog and Alex Tanguay.

    • Comeau Picks Up Pens' Lone Goal In Game 1

News: Blake Comeau scored Pittsburgh's lone goal in a 2-1 loss to the Rangers on Thursday.
Analysis: Despite skating a team-low 15 shifts, Blake Comeau made the best of his 10:43 TOI. The winger collected two PIM, two shots on goal, three hits and a takeaway. He continues to play with a wrist that won't be fully healthy until the fall.
    • Comeau Demoted To Pens' Third Line

News: The Pens dropped Blake Comeau to the third line from Evgeni Malkin's line during Thursday's practice, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
Analysis: Blake Comeau has scored two goals and four points in 19 games since February. He admitted that a wrist injury which forced him to miss considerable action won't be 100-percent healthy until next season.

    • Pens' Comeau Operating At Less Than 100 Percent

News: Blake Comeau revealed that the wrist he broke in December will likely hinder his shot for the remainder of the season, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.
Analysis: "There are times when I tweak it … more so after the games just dealing with the stiffness, the soreness, the grip strength," Blake Comeau said. "The doctors told me it's something I'm going to have to deal with the rest of the year." The production is still decent -- he has four goals in 14 games since returning -- but keep in mind he could re-aggravate the injury at any time.
    • Goal, Assist For Pens' Comeau

News: Blake Comeau scored a goal and gathered an assist in Friday's 5-2 win over the Ducks. He also skated to a plus-2.
Analysis: Blake Comeau opened the scoring midway through the second period, opening the floodgates for four more Penguins goals. He's been rather productive with his new team this season, having now posted 28 points and a plus-14 rating in 43 games. He probably won't be able to topple his career-high 46 points set in 2010-11 with the Islanders just because he missed so many games due to injury, but he's a nice piece of secondary scoring who should continue to produce regularly as long as he's playing with Sidney Crosby or Evgeni Malkin.
