Mets' gift to Chipper Jones is pretty cool

As previously noted, Braves luminary Chipper Jones is in New York for his final trip to Queens, home borough to Shea Stadium and Citi Field and home, in turn, to many of Jones' defining moments. As has been the case in his other final stops, Jones was presented with something pretty cool to commemorate his battles of yore.

The Mets ponied up for a piece of original artwork. While it will never find a home in the Louvre, it's still pretty cool in a "Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy" kind of way ...

Sure, why not!

As for Sunday's series finale, Chipper won't be in the lineup so he can rest his knee. But he's hoping to be the pinch-hitter of first resort.
