Orioles starter Jair Jurrjens will return to the Triple-A Norfolk rotation Friday.

Jurrjens has missed time with a sore thumb, but it wasn't expected to be serious. Jurrjens was considered symptom free and threw Sunday. Jurrjens has a 4.09 ERA in 66 Triple-A innings. 

Orioles minor league starter Jair Jurrjens, who had to miss a start Saturday due to a right thumb injury, managed to throw Sunday morning from 90 feet, MLB.com reports. Jurrjens was "symptom free," though he didn't throw any offspeed pitches, only fastballs. He should get back on the mound for Triple-A Norfolk shortly. 

Oriolesstarting pitcher Jair Jurrjens has been scratched from his Saturday start at Triple-A Norfolk due to soreness in his pitching thumb. Jurrjens could be skipped in the rotation while he heals. 

Jurrjens has a 4.09 ERA in 11 starts for Norfolk, but he was unable to stick in the rotation in the majors when given the chance. It is not clear how long he will be out.

Jurrjens has been dealing with a thumb issue, and his spot in the rotation could be skipped this time around. The team has not announced his replacement yet. Jurrjens has a 4.09 ERA in 11 minor-league starts this year.
