Jeremy Hellickson strikes out eight in no-decision vs. Blue Jays
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com

Rays pitcher Jeremy Hellickson didn't factor into the decision Saturday, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits and four walks in six innings while striking out eight in his team's 6-3 loss to the Blue Jays.

Hellickson watched all three runs score in the third inning, and his unearned run was the result of his own throwing error. The quality start was his first in his last four outings, and it was also the first time during that stretch he didn't surrender a home run. Hellickson owns a 3.63 ERA and 51:19 K:BB ratio in 57 innings. He's scheduled to face the White Sox Friday.

Jeremy Hellickson strikes out six in no-decision Sunday
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com

Rays pitcher Jeremy Hellickson didn't factor into the decision Sunday, giving up two earned runs on four hits and two walks in 5 1/3 innings while striking out six in his team's 7-5 loss to the Orioles.

Hellickson picked up a 3-0 lead on three home runs by the end of the fourth inning, but he gave up his own two-run shot in the sixth. Though he left with the lead, the bullpen blew it in the ninth inning to deny him a win. Hellickson owns a 3.71 ERA and 43:15 K:BB ratio in 51 innings. He's scheduled to face the Blue Jays Saturday.

Jeremy Hellickson can't make it four innings Tuesday
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com

Rays pitcher Jeremy Hellickson was unable to toss four innings Tuesday against the Blue Jays.

Hellickson allowed five runs on eight hits over 3 1/3 innings. He struck out two and walked two during the outing. Toronto managed to chip away at Hellickson early, picking up runs in both the second and third inning. Things proved difficult in the fourth, though.

After notching a ground out to open the frame, Hellickson gave up two straight singles. With two men on, Hellickson allowed a three-run homer to Jose Reyes. He was pulled from the game at that point. Hellickson threw 87 pitches.

With the loss, Hellickson dropped to 1-3. He'll take on the Orioles in his next start.

Jeremy Hellickson fails to go five innings
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com

Rays pitcher Jeremy Hellickson failed to go five innings Thursday against the Orioles.

Hellickson allowed four runs, three earned, on eight hits over 4 1/3 innings. He struck out two and walked two during the outing. Hellickson found himself in trouble in the first inning. A solo home run to Steve Pearce started the scoring for Baltimore. Hellickson then gave up two straight singles. With men on first and third, the Orioles decided to double-steal. Adam Jones made it home on the steal attempt, while Nelson Cruz was safe at second. Hellickson managed to pitch out of the inning without giving up any additional runs.

He fell into trouble again in the fifth. Hellickson loaded the bases after facing the first three batters. After picking up a line out, Hellickson was removed from the game. Two runs would come around to score after Hellickson left, though one was due to an error. He was charged with both runs, though only one was earned.

Hellickson left with the game tied, earning the no-decision. He’ll take on the Blue Jays in his next start.

Jeremy Hellickson strong in Saturday no-decision
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com

Rays right-hander Jeremy Hellickson continued a strong run Saturday against the host Blue Jays. But all he gained from the quality start was a no-decision in an eventual loss.

Hellickson allowed just two earned runs on three hits in 6 1/3 innings with one walk and eight strikeouts. He left with a 3-2 lead that the bullpen promptly blew. He was staggered only by a two-run third in which he surrendered run-scoring doubles by Jose Reyes and Melky Cabrera.

He now awaits his next start Thursday in Baltimore.
