Angels' Mike Trout: Wins AL MVP award
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Trout was named the American League MVP on Thursday by the Baseball Writers' Association of America.

There was some speculation that Trout might narrowly miss out on yet another MVP award, but in the end, the AL's best player received his proper recognition. Mookie Betts and Jose Altuve came in second and third in the voting, respectively. Trout hit .315/.441/.550 with 29 homers, 100 RBI, 123 runs scored and 30 steals, and figures to be the consensus top pick in drafts next spring.

Angels' Mike Trout: Hits two milestones in regular season finale Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Trout went 1-for-2 with two walks, an RBI and a stolen base in Sunday's win over the Astros.

In addition to finishing the regular season with a .315/.441/.550 slash line, Trout rounded off his counting stats nicely by picking up his 100th RBI and 30th stolen base Sunday, to go along with 29 home runs and 123 runs scored. The perennial MVP candidate will once again be a strong consideration for the top pick in fantasy drafts in 2017.

Angels' Mike Trout: In Friday's lineup
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Trout (shoulder) is in the lineup for Friday's game against the Astros, Eric Kay of the Angels reports.

Trout injured his shoulder in the Angels' last game Wednesday and was removed early. His setback will not prevent him from playing in Friday's game, but he will be used as the designated hitter to prevent him from having to throw. He will hit second in the Angels' batting order against Astros starter Brad Peacock.

Angels' Mike Trout: Homers in win over Athletics
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Trout hit a solo homer and walked twice in a 2-for-2 game Monday against the A's.

Trout has a ridiculous 21:19 BB:K in 23 games this September as he has continued to demolish American League pitching even as his Angels limp to the finish line. He owns a .312/.465/.545 line with four home runs and six stolen bases to close the season, neatly in line with his .318/.441/.560 marks for the full season. Trout's team may be eliminated, but he still deserves consideration for MVP honors with his performance.

Angels' Mike Trout: Records two hits versus Astros on Saturday
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Trout went 2-for-3 with two walks, two RBI and three runs in a 10-4 victory over the Astros on Saturday.

After a hot August, Trout has hit .294 and posted a .943 OPS in September, including 3-for-6 in the series versus Houston. Trout has also been patient lately, walking eight times in the last five games. He is slashing .318/.440/.557 with 28 home runs, 97 RBI and 120 runs in 528 at-bats this season.
