  • Jordan Johnson: Cut by Cincinnati

    The Reds released Johnson on Monday, J.J. Cooper of Baseball America reports. Since entering the professional ranks as a 23rd-round pick in 2014, Johnson has made a slow climb through the minors, topping out with 11 starts at the Triple-A level in 2018. He'll now be moving on from his second organization after struggling in 15 starts between three of the Reds' affiliates in 2019, going 0-7 with a 6.79 ERA and 1.71 WHIP over 50.1 innings.

  • Giants' Jordan Johnson: Dealt to Reds

    Johnson was traded to the Reds from the Giants on Thursday, in exchange for Connor Joe, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports. Johnson spent the 2018 season split between Double-A Richmond and Triple-A Sacramento. He started 26 games, posting a 4.06 ERA across 137.1 innings, striking out 114 and walking 64. The 25-year-old will serve as depth in the Reds organization.
