White Sox second baseman Jeff Keppinger recorded two hits and two RBI on Wednesday during a 9-4 win at Minnesota. 

Batting eighth, Keppinger went 2 for 5 and his double in the seventh inning scored Paul Konerko and Conor Gillaspie. The two hits only raised Keppinger's average to .185. 

The 33-year-old utility infielder had gone 0 for 11 over his previous three games with two strikeouts. He has yet to get his bat going with just eight RBI and three extra-base hits over 135 at-bats. 

White Sox third baseman Jeff Keppinger finished 1 for 4 while hitting out of the No. 7 spot in the batting order during a 3-2 loss to the Angels on Saturday night. It was the first time Keppinger slotted in a position other than second or fifth as Chicago looks to kick-start his production at the plate.

He entered the game hitting just .191.

"It's more mixing it up," manager Robin Ventura told MLB.com of the lineup. "You know what the track record is [for Keppinger] and you are trying to get it out of him. He fits in a lot of different spots in the lineup with the way he can handle the bat. So, hopefully there will be some guys on and he can knock in some runs."

The White Sox gave infielder Jeff Keppinger a rest on Wednesday in New York. Keppinger had started in each of the team's previous six games. 

Keppinger, who finished April with three straight two-hit games, has cooled off in May. He's gone 4 for 26 (.154) for the month with no RBI and three strikeouts. Keppinger is hitting .191 overall on the year.
