Carmona finishes with a flourish: Cleveland SP Fausto Carmona finished his season on a high note Wednesday against the White Sox. Starting the first game of a doubleheader, Carmona gave up just one run on five hits over seven innings to win and improve to 5-12 on the year. He walked two and struck out five in the game. His ERA is at 6.32 for the season.

Carmona finished his season with a flourish as he won his final two starts and allowed just three runs over 13 innings with 11 strikeouts over those two wins. He'd lost four straight and six of seven before that so he definitely needed the turnaround. He finished 2009 as just a low-end mixed-league Fantasy option but could be a candidate for a resurgence in 2010. Consider him a sleeper option best left for late in Drafts.
