Report: Reds to call-up infielder Ivan De Jesus Jr. from Triple-A
by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer

The Reds are reportedly prepared to call up infielder Ivan De Jesus Jr. from Triple-A. The 28-year-old De Jesus was a second round draft pick by the Dodgers in 2005 and has bounced around a bit over the last couple of seasons.

He inked a minor league deal with the Reds this offseason, and has been playing with Triple-A Louisville. In 50 games this season, De Jesus his batting .303 with 12 extra-base hits and 16 RBI. He has seen time at all four infield positions this season with Louisville.

The team is expected to announce the promotion, along with any corresponding roster moves in the near future, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Reds' Johnny Cueto takes hard-luck no-decision
by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com

Reds starter Johnny Cueto allowed just one earned run in six innings, but an unearned run and a Philadelphia rally against the Reds' bullpen forced him to settle for a no-decision.

Cueto allowed five hits and didn't walk a batter, striking out four. He left with a 4-2 lead. Cueto hadn't pitched since May 19 due to a shoulder injury.

"It doesn't feel 100 percent yet, but it's progressing. I'm getting better," Cueto said, per MLB.com. "Not really in the elbow situation. Thank God, I feel great. I felt kind of nervous in the beginning because coming from an injury, you don't know what to expect. Overall, I felt really good. It's just about being ready and being back in shape."

Cueto's next start is Sunday, against San Diego.

Marlon Byrd leaves Reds' game with fractured wrist
by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com

Reds left fielder Marlon Byrd left Tuesday's game in the seventh inning with a wrist injury. Byrd was hit by a pitch in the top of the sixth.

Byrd received X-rays and was diagnosed with a fracture in his wrist, per the Cincinnati Enquirer. More information about the severity of the injury will be available on Wednesday.

"To what degree the injury is yet to be known; I don't know if it's a [disabled-list-requiring injury]," Reds manager Bryan Price said, per MLB.com. "I'd guess it is, but I don't know that for sure. We're going to wait until we hear from the doctors and they read the X-rays and they make that decision. I would not anticipate having him available, not in this series, and there's a possibility he could be DL'd here, too."

Byrd is hitting .212, with 10 home runs and 25 RBI.
