Rostislav Klesla suspended 1 game for boarding Matt Halischuk
The Phoenix Coyotes have an opportunity to wrap up their Western Conference Semifinal series against Nashville on Monday night, but they're going to have to do it without the services of defenseman Rostislav Klesla.
The NHL announced on Sunday evening that the defenseman has been suspended one game for a boarding incident involving Predators forward Matt Halischuk during the Coyotes win 1-0 win on Friday night.
Klesla was given a two-minute minor during the game, and was lucky that he didn't receive a major or a game misconduct.
"Halischuk gets in front of Klesla as they approach the boards from the middle of the ice," said vice president of player safety Brendan Shanahan in his latest video. "As Klesla tracks Halischuk he reaches out with his left hand and grabs Halischuk's jersey. He pulls him back on his heels, and then shoves him with force, causing Halischuk to impact violently with the boards."

Klesla has averaged just a little over 18 minutes of ice time per game, including nearly three minutes on the penalty kill, during the playoffs and has scored two goals to go with four assists.
