NEWARK, N.J. -- Much has been made of the job Los Angeles Kings defenseman Drew Doughty did against the New Jersey Devils top forwards in Game 1, helping to shut them down and all but eliminate their chances.

Early in Game 2 we had an opportunity to see him show off his ability as an offensive force. He went on a beautiful end-to-end rush (as seen in the video posted below) and fired an absolute laser of a shot past Martin Brodeur to give the Kings an early 1-0 lead.

As soon as he made the turn in his own end it was almost as if the entire ice opened up for him and nobody was going to be able to stop him.

And nobody did.

He went through the entire group of Devils on the ice and scored his third goal of the playoffs. This all came just after the Kings successfully killed off a New Jersey power play.

Of course, Devils fans know what it's like to see a defenseman go on an end-to-end rush like that in the Stanley Cup Final.
