New York Rangers forward Chris Kreider is red hot to start the season. He's so hot right now that even he can't contain himself.

The speedy winger came into Monday night's contest against the San Jose Sharks with four points after notching two in each of New York's first two games. After recording an assist on the Rangers' second goal against the Sharks, Kreider kept his multipoint game streak going with an absolute snipe of a wrist shot to beat Sharks goalie Martin Jones.

Kreider, who was flying down the wing, was pretty pumped after scoring the goal. He didn't see that he was about to run head on to referee Tom Kowal. Instead of running the official over, Kreider just wrapped him up for a quick embrace.

Kowal was an unwilling participant in the celebration, but he was able to laugh it off. That was definitely better than the alternative.

With that goal, Kreider is now tied with Edmonton Oilers star Connor McDavid for the NHL point lead at this early stage of the season. It's a fantastic start for the 25-year-old, who still hasn't had that big breakout season. Could this incredible start put him on track to change that? It certainly won't hurt.
