  • Flames' Jonas Hiller: Stands tall in cleanup duty

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(5:19 am ET) Hiller stepped in for an injured Karri Ramo (lower body) and stopped all eight shots he faced en route to a 6-5 shootout win over the Sharks.

When Ramo went down with an injury late in the third period, Hiller was up to the task and led his team to victory. The win was Hiller's third in a row, and he's got a GAA of 1.88 and a .949 save percentage on his current streak. With Ramo out for an undetermined period of time, this could certainly be Hiller's time to shine.

Flames' Jonas Hiller: Puts together respectable performance in win

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/10/16) Hiller recorded 33 saves on 36 shots en route to a 4-3 victory over the Maple Leafs on Tuesday.

Despite winning his second straight start, Hiller didn't exactly turn heads with his performance against a struggling Toronto team. He is 5-1-1 in his last seven starts, however. So while he doesn't put up the gaudy numbers that some other netminders do, Hiller can still be relied on to get the win when he's between the pipes.

Flames' Jonas Hiller: Will start Tuesday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/8/16) Hiller will start in the crease Tuesday against the Maple Leafs, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The FAN reports.

Coming off a 34-save victory over the Canucks on Saturday, the Flames have decided to turn Hiller's way once again Tuesday. He'll get a treat in his start as well, facing a Maple Leafs squad decimated by injuries, including two of the team's top three scorers. The lack of firepower for Toronto could lead to another strong outing for the 33-year-old netminder, who'll look to improve on his 3.01 GAA and .890 save percentage so far this season.

Flames' Jonas Hiller: Frustrates Canucks with 34-save performance

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/7/16) Hiller stopped all but one of the 34 shots he faced in Saturday's win over the Canucks.

An exceptional performance from Hiller, who handed the Canucks their fourth straight loss. Hiller hasn't seen much action this season, posting a 6-5-1 record in 15 games. While this was his first appearance since Jan.24, Hiller's strong play against Vancouver likely means he will receive more starts in the near-future.

Flames' Jonas Hiller: Starting Saturday against Vancouver

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/6/16) Hiller will be between the pipes in Saturday's game against the Canucks.

Hiller hasn't played well in limited action this season, posting a 5-5-1 record with an ugly 3.16 GAA and .882 save percentage in 14 appearances. The 33-year-old netminder will look to pick up his sixth win of the season Saturday in a favorable road matchup with a Vancouver club averaging just 2.30 goals per game at home this season, 28th in the NHL.

Hiller will start the final three games for the Flames, including Tuesday's tilt against Arizona, the Calgary Herald reports.Hiller had a standout performance Saturday against the Oilers, so even if Karri Ramo wasn't hurt, Hiller would likely be the starter Tuesday. He's been playing well as of late, and with the Flames fighting for their playoff lives, he could be in line for a good week.
