Paul Pogba is nearly a Red Devil once again. On Sunday, ahead of its Community Shield clash with Leicester City, Manchester United announced that Pogba had been granted permission in order to have a physical to finalize his transfer to United.

The France and Juventus superstar, just 23 years old and looked at as one of the top players in the world under the age of 25, joined Juventus from Manchester United in 2012. He is now expected to complete a move for over $100 million, and the move is expected to be the richest in history.

If the move goes through as expected, Pogba easily becomes the face of United, which has added Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the offseason as well as coach Jose Mourinho.

United had stayed quiet over the potential transfer of the midfielder, but Sunday's statement clearly shows the team is close to reacquiring him. A move for Pogba would boost United's chances of not only qualifying for the Champions League but also winning the Premier League this season.

More to come as this story unfolds.
