Tim Howard's star is still shining bright. The Colorado Rapids goalkeeper, who joined the club this season from Everton, stole the show as his club eliminated the Los Angeles Galaxy on Sunday in the Western Conference semifinals. The game went to penalty kicks, and Colorado won 3-1, as Howard saved two of the three shots missed by Los Angeles.

The last one was low to his right. Check out the fine, match-winning save.

The best defensive team in MLS keeps the amazing run going, and Howard is a big reason why. That's a great sign for the Rapids as they move on to face the winner of Seattle and Dallas in the conference final, but it's equally great news for the USMNT. With the big match against Mexico on Friday in World Cup qualifying, this performance had to catch the eye of coach Jurgen Klinsmann, who announced the USMNT roster on Sunday. Klinsmann named Howard as the starting keeper for the start of the hex. Can you blame him?
