For the first time in 31 years, the U.S. U-20 national team has beaten Mexico. On Monday in the U-20 CONCACAF Championship in Costa Rica, the U.S. won 1-0 on this headed goal from Sporting Kansas City’s Erik Palmer-Brown.

The win sees the U.S. get off to a fantastic start in the classification stage. In Group D, the U.S. has three points, while El Salvador has zero having not yet played. Mexico is last with zero points. The U.S. will play El Salvador on March 3. The top two teams from that group qualify for the U-20 World Cup, which takes place from May 20 to June 11 in South Korea.

Plenty of reasons to for the U.S. be happy, but you know who maybe was the most happy? Former U.S. men’s national team manager Jurgen Klinsmann. His son Jonathan is the starting goalkeeper for the U.S. squad and did well to keep a clean sheet.
