A person working on a stadium in Qatar for the 2022 World Cup died in a building site accident on Sunday, according to the Associated Press. It's the first work-related fatality to be announced by organizers of the competition.

Qatar, which will host the World Cup after Russia does in 2018, has long been seen as an unfit location to host the World Cup, but not only due to its lack of history in the sport. There have been growing concerns over the labor conditions in the nation. There have been allegations of abuse against workers.

Previously there have been three deaths at stadium construction sites but they reportedly weren't considered work-related.

The accident, which was not described, took place at the Al Wakrah Stadium. The AP says that Qatari officials believe the worker was hit by a water truck.

The stadium is less than 10 miles from the capital, Doha, and will seat 40,000.
