ISIS chiefs have reportedly banned some soccer jerseys from being worn, threatening those in the Al-Furat province in Iraq with 80 lashes for wearing soccer kits, according to The Mirror.

The jerseys that were marked on a post include Manchester United and Manchester City, Chelsea, Barcelona, Real Madrid and more. The common theme is no jerseys that are Nike and Adidas. So that's no Lionel Messi jersey, Barcelona or Argentina, and no Cristiano Ronaldo jersey, Portugal or Real Madrid.

As to exactly why, it remains unclear. One could speculate that perhaps ISIS does not one anyone indirectly supporting big companies of the western world.
