The Spanish Supreme Court upheld Lionel Messi's 21-month prison sentence for tax fraud on Wednesday after his appeal, according to Marca. The Barcelona superstar, who has one more match left this season in Saturday's Copa del Rey final, isn't expected to serve any jail time as under Spanish law his first offense under two years can be served as probation

Messi was sentenced back in July of 2016 along with his father in fraud amounting to over $4.1 million. Messi was fined $2 million for using tax havens to avoid paying tax in Spain.

Messi and his representatives appealed the case in the effort to get the sentence and fine reduced, but came up empty handed. The player's father, Jorge, had his sentence reduced from 21 months to 15 months for cooperating with authorities to return some of the money.
