The Liga MX title belongs to Chivas after the team beat Tigres 2-1 in the second leg of the final to win 4-3 on aggregate. After drawing the first leg on the road on Thursday, 2-2, Chivas again dominated their opponent for the most part to secure their second trophy of the season but things got wild late as Tigres nearly forced extra time.

It didn't take Chivas long to get going in this one. Alan Pulido put the hosts in the lead in the 17th minutes with this lovely first-time volley:

And with Tigres looking to come back, Chivas' Jose Vazquez all but ended it in the 70th minute with this effort that took a deflection and before sneaking in the net.

But Ismael Sosa scored in the dying minutes to give Tigres life, needing one more goal to force extra time.

And five added minutes resulted in a frantic finish, but Tigres wasn't able to get another, but of no fault of their own. A clear penalty kick in the final minutes was not called after Ismael Sosa was brought down, and the hosts held on.

What a result that is for Chivas, with their hearts in their throat the entire time. The attack did its part but Chivas' defense was quality on the night, not letting the visitors get the looks on goal it needed to come back. And as a result, the red and white add another trophy to its case just a month after winning the Copa MX.
